It only took me two months but now Tokodon has a logo designed by @Blort.

Good morning and good day, #fediverse. I've logged on to my work PC just to catch up on some things before I return on Monday, and of course #Windows doesn't want to boot up properly today. I really wish we could use our own devices sometimes :blobcoffee:
in reply to ℝоbіn

I read today that maybe because of some bad windows update, specifically update to bios. Try to go to bios and select proper boot device, now searching for that article
in reply to Žygimantas "RGB" Tauras

Oh, thanks! As I type this, I'm getting the login screen once again. Looks like it's all clear now (for now)

So if you haven’t used your Ubuntu/Pop!_OS machine (Dell XPS? others?) for a while and it gives you an error on launch that it cannot find your encrypted disk (cryptsetup: Waiting for encrypted source device… etc.) see this:

askubuntu.com/questions/136746…

(In my case, I hadn’t changed the motherboard or anything but I guess the BIOS reverts back to Raid when it runs out of juice or something… it had lost the date setting too.)

Narungga weather

Blowing an absolute hoolie here. Dust off flying objects everywhere.

This lizard (Tiliqua rugosa) nearly copped a flying broken roof spinner that had blown out of the carport.

Blueberries are apparently really cheap right now ($2/punnet) so the first batch of gelato for the season is Blueberry! #food #icecream #gelato

NFTs are money laundering: One picture says it all

The principal component of money laundering is the opacity: hiding the source of the money used to buy them. Cryptocurrency markets have that opacity disguised as privacy. So it's not my job to prove NFTs are money laundering, it's NFT markets' job to prove they are not.

Also, check out this tweet (screenshot attached):

> WTF is going on in the NFT world? This seems like some serious attempts at money laundering?

>> Punk 364 bought for 360 ETH ($1,521,745.14 USD) by 0xb0dafc from 0xddd0e9.

I mean, seriously? A super crappy pixel drawing being sold for 1.5 MILLION dollars?

Tell me that's NOT money laundering with a straight face, you fucks.

@PINE64 hi, i would be interested to know wether you already testen styluslabs' write styluslabs.com/ on the #PineNote pro and if so - if the hardware is capable of running it smoothly. because i do not need handwriting recognition but find some of its features really appealing to me. but since it works with (many) svg paths i feel unsure if thus app and the hardware are a good match...
in reply to Jürgen

Unfortunately, it appears the Linux version of Write is only available for x86, and on a cursory look I don't see the source available anywhere to be able to compile it for ARM.

Hello !Friendica Admins

Today I learned a new German word: "Datensparsamkeit". It means something like data prudence. (Thanks Hoergen!)

The size of my node's database has steadily increased over the last four weeks, with a further sharp rise over the last few days.

The overall increase is about 40 per cent [40%!!] over four weeks. See the two graphs here: 👇

There haven't been any major changes to the usage of my system. Friendica configurations as shown below haven't been altered either (although I increased the mysql IB logfile setting). I updated to the 2021.09 release about about four weeks ago.

What's going on? How to interpret this increase in the DB's size?

@Steffen K9 🐰 @Andy H3 yes, you need to do that, I do this too, but well the storage table is growing all the time anyway. But the server is young, only 3 years or so, so growth might stop at some point.
in reply to Andy HΞ3

So I run mysqloptimize and got some minor gains; about 2G reduction.

Interestingly, optimising requires quite some addition space during the process.

Developers, this is the last week to file an application for a #PinePhonePro dev unit. We already have 4x more applications than available dev units.

Those who filed for a coupon: we’ll start going through applications next week.

Sounds nice but I can't currently afford another device, so I'll leave this one for others
