I miss when Rocket League had native OSX and Linux versions. I have no clue why Epic Games wants to avoid Linux like it killed their grandma or something.

Steam Deck Accessory brand JSAUX update, statement released

youtu.be/PI6GgNU1Z54

Final paper from my PhD is finally out!

We explored the diversity and the nutrient turnover potential of plant-associated communities from a biodiversity hotspot in Brazil. Several lineages with high phosphorus-turnover potential were expanded, showing that uncultured microorganisms are fundamental to nutrient cycling and plant nutrition.

I spoke with JSAUX behind the scenes, and this is one part of the result. They agreed with me on many things, and I'm pleased they took my advice on this and other things being improved. Good stuff.

Image statement taken from their Twitter.

wait what? im confused. what websites steam host other than value and steam?? its real question
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

I'm not sure I trust them yet, but after watching your video it's at least a good step in the right direction, to few companies are willing to admit to mistakes, even with people trying to get them to as long as you have been

I'm not about to rush out and buy stuff from them, but if enough time passes without incedent I will at least be open to it

NASA doesn’t usually allow animals in portraits.

But in 2009, astronaut Leland Melvin snuck his adorable rescue dogs, Jake & Scout, into Johnson #Space Center for his official picture.

In addition to going on 2 space missions, Melvin had been drafted into the NFL. He’s now an advocate for STEAM education & animal welfare. lelandmelvin.com

Sadly, Jake & Scout passed away, but when Melvin published his 2017 memoir Chasing Space, he chose this wonderful photo for the cover. #HistoryRemix

I have a GREAT list of more stickers to add so stay tuned

I kept thinking, I know a lunar new year song. Where do I know it from? Then I remember one music group I am fond of actually covered "Gong Xi". Enjoy Pink Martini! Happy Lunar New Year!

Tweetbot has been discontinued as well. Much appreciation to the Tapbots and Iconfactory (Twitterrific) teams for their excellent apps. "We've invested over 10 years building Tweetbot for Twitter and it was shut down in a blink of an eye." tapbots.com/tweetbot/

I never thought I would be happy because dollar is 29 EGP but here we are, a week late and dollar still at 29 🎉

It's doesn't make any sense to put `::before` and `::after` on replaced elements! Where would they go?!

`<img>`: Yeah, totally, my insides are covered with an image.

`<input>`: Agreed, they would be misused on me anyway.

`<br>`: Nobody puts content inside *me*.

I love that my church chose an icon of the Harrowing of Hell for its new evangelization campaign. Pretty punk rock way to introduce folks to the faith.
in reply to Nathan Schneider

I love this! I was completely ignorant of the church tradition of the harrowing until recently. I picked up Evan Dahm's OGN and have read it every Easter since it's release. Wonderful stuff.

This is the year that the Fediverse overtakes the Metaverse.

That's right.

According to GlobalData, it's going to be a "Metaverse winter" and a "Fediverse spring".

I love the idea of a mobile server that can bring its history with it.

Updated find.sciences.social has two new lists.

Communication and Media Studies managed by @josh find.sciences.social/search?fi…

Economics managed by @czimm_economist find.sciences.social/search?fi… based on the RePec list of economists on Mastodon ideas.repec.org/i/emastodon.ht…

in reply to Mark Igra

If you manage a list of academics on Mastodon that isn't yet on find.sciences.social let me know and I'll see how we can integrate it.

Happy lunar new year! Yesterday I had the chance to see new year's preparations at the still-under-construction meditation hall at Compassionate Dharma Cloud Monastery in the foothills above Denver. It will be a mighty monument to the compassion this world needs.

It’s actually technically a nightmare. I’ll have to test Mona to see how accurate it is but on my 500 notifications per hours account it could either crash the API or not be accurate at all. I wonder if @Gargron have that in the roadmap.

From: @Ronnie
appdot.net/@Ronnie/10973422274…

in reply to Thomas Ricouard

Does the grouping have to happen server-side? I always figured it's just a client-side thing anybody could do.
in reply to Eugen Rochko

it can but it means you have to pull a looooot of pages of notifications and you could hit the rate limit faster. I’ll explore the idea.

Just noticed @ivory added one last alternate app icon with latest beta 🥲

I've decided to spend some of my free Sunday mornings doing little hikes at state/national parks around the Charlotte area. On this cold, rainy morning, I headed up to the Lake Norman State Park. As usual, I had a bit of a hard time find where to start hiking (I have some silly stories on that front), but I found an easy looping trail and enjoyed the silence and occasional sight of large birds. 🤩

(Also, huwwo, Mastodon. Glad to be back after a holiday break. :aceper: )

This is the type of thing that will get you blocked. I won’t deal with this kind of random attitude problem. Don’t be like this, be better or be blocked.

Now you can easily find and follow #academics on Mastodon in a very neat directory prepared by @markigra

find.sciences.social/

Thanks @TuSocialMedia for sharing it.

in reply to Dee Toher

the original list the data is being drawn from has the information you are seeking. I think somewhere on top of/between these two projects is a very good place to build on if folks are interested in these types of communities on fedi nathanlesage.github.io/academi…
in reply to Danny (he/they)

Right - the lists come from that site. The ones you see on find.sciences.social are largely the ones that were easy to grab/transform - or where I was in contact with owners.

I'd love to talk to someone who wants to manage a Math list - been looking at ways to make list creation and management easy/better but need a real case.

Pretty much universal. It's why I never participated in a team sport (not counting IM soccer, and the intramural stuff is much more relaxed).
