How very northern hemispherist of you. Time for a global perspective.

Webb’s holiday card sorted! 🎄

NGC 7469 is like a cosmic wreath bursting with new stars. This galaxy is very dusty, but Webb’s infrared vision can peer through to observe features like the intense ring of star formation close around its bright center. esawebb.org/images/potm2212a/

Into the whirlpool! 🌀

Seen in this #HubbleClassic image, the Whirlpool Galaxy's striking spiral arms are star-formation factories; they compress hydrogen gas and create clusters of new stars.

This galaxy is located 31 million light-years away! For more: go.nasa.gov/3YI5JwO

And no, I am not a paid influencer, but Hirbawi is the last operating manufacturer of Kuffiye in Palestine. They have the right size (they are big!), are of wonderful quality and I just love to wear them. kufiya.org

BIG NEWS: Pawoo.net, the world's 2nd biggest Mastodon instance, has just been acquired.

The entity acquiring them is the Mask Group, a business that also runs mstdn.jp and mastodon.cloud. They are also active in the so-called "Web 3.0" space.

If you haven't heard of pawoo.net, it's because many instances have de-federated from it.
