Was läuft hier schief? Ich selber habe keine Erklärung dafür...
Ist das ein Bug in der aktuellen Stable?

I have two Mastodon instances that CONSTANTLY show up in my tootctl account cull as "EndlessredirectError": m.techsocial.site and social.jvan.be. Every single week. Any other admins know what's up with that? Are these dead sites? Troll sites? Technical errors? Why do they keep ending up back in my accounts list every week? The sites don't resolve in my browser, and adding them to my defederation doesn't seem to cause any accounts to be removed.

#fediblock #mastohelp #mastoadmin

in reply to Nate Bartram

seems like the error is rather descriptive of the problem: both of these instances are misconfigured to cause endless redirects.

I think the following should resolve it:

tootctl domain purge [DOMAIN]<br>

No new Debian updates on X going forward.

news.itsfoss.com/debian-logs-o…

in reply to It's FOSS

finally someone has the guts to do it. I really respect Debian for finally abandoning a platform that is rife with abuse. Removing content and avoiding places like X and Facebook is really the only way to reduce the immense power that those network have over us

Where were they when Twitter blocked "conspiracy theories" about how the "pandemic" was used to enslave people? Now they are virtue-signalling just because they don't like Elon Musk? Isn't it better to focus on the software?

Git is named after the British slang for “unpleasant person”—a nod to Linus Torvalds’ sharp sense of humor.

in reply to It's FOSS

No, Linus did not give name for Linux. At first, he named it as FreaX.

Actually, I would agree with a number of these. Especially the one that says puns are a sign of intelligence! XD

I hit most of those, FWIW.

I've always gravitated more to the "Peace" churches in general. I respected the anti-slavery sentiments and the conscientious objection to military service and refusal to salute the flag on the grounds that it was a form of idolatry (it is). It's cool that they turned out to be my people after all. 😀
in reply to Muse

Mine certainly didn't. They were in Poland and Russia hiding from the progroms.

My alma mater, however, was an Underground Railroad stop. Slave catchers were run out of town.

A heatwave right into town last week
She came from the island of Martinique
The can-can she dances will make you fry
The can-can is really reason why
We're having a heatwave
A tropical heatwave
The temperature's rising
It isn't surprising
She certainly can, can-can
She started a heatwave
By letting her seat wave
And in such a way that
The customers say that
She certainly can, can-can
Gee
Her anatomy
Made the mercury

Ran DeepSeek R1 on Raspberry Pi 5, and the performance was…

in reply to ⁂ Jnk ∞ 📎

I wasn't sure, so after reading your comment, I went to the Ollama website and checked the model they provided. The documentation makes it pretty clear that it's a distilled version of DeepSeek R1.

As for the self-questioning and reasoning, I tested it with Open WebUI earlier, and while there was some reasoning involved, the final response was still correct.

The self-questioning part seemed more like the model thinking through the answer rather than adding unnecessary filler.

The term “DEI” is being used as a cover to tear apart much of the federal government. It’s not that this language didn’t exist before, but it’s being weaponized now. Suddenly the cold, impersonal-sounding acronym DEI has replaced “diversity initiatives,” “civil rights,” “equal rights,” “fairness,” and “anti-discrimination” in everyday conversation. I would suggest that one small thing we can do is return to using those actual words. This week's comic:

@dch This was a game changer in France when launched. Could access phone directory (freely), get news, get tinder-like/porn content (wooohooo!), get weather services, book appointments,…. A textual access to the world, some premises of bbs or what would be later internet. This, in an easy-to-get terminal even for homes where computers were nowhere to be found. This was a revolutionary device. we French seem to be often associated with revolutions, actually.
