> Government considers social media time limits for children
Here we go again: an Internet watershed...
I wonder how the government proposes to identify "social media apps" for the (alleged) two hour time limit.
Per service? Or will service providers have to exchange information with each other as to how much time has elapsed?
Will they name which service providers they actually mean (Meta , TikTok etc.)?

Social media time limits for children considered by government

I've still not heard back from my MP Steve Reed, about the letter I sent to him about this.
Shower of bastards.
Saddling small sites with the same duties as huge platforms means many will shut down in a hammer blow to net plurality.
We'll be left with the Sophieโs choice of monopoly services; the incubators of online harms.
URGENT: The UK government must change the Online Safety Act to protect safe, non-commercial blogs, forums and fediverse.
