I'm fine with the soft, whirring spaceship sounds that some EVs emit as a safety feature to alert people that they're moving. The new Dodge Charger EV comes with a deafening 126 dB roar, which is just plain obnoxious.

Nice that you can get 50 amp charging from a carpark in America. In Australia it's 15 amp. But you're right about the complexity. Reminds me of the early days of PCs, juggling fiddly plugs and X not being compatible with Y. Now at last we have the USB plug.

I guess each of the many charging companies hopes their system will ultimately become the dominant one, and if a bit of technology is good, more must be better. (It isn't).
