the first push was in 1994, I had just bought my first PC, and was inquisitive, but I initially stuck to #Windows, the second in 2002, I was looking for a robust server stack for JEE, webprofile at my employer and chose suse linux enterprise, finally in 2022 I wanted to regain full control over my private machines again, better stability and maintainability and to protect myself from bigtech's data collection frenzy - #linux delivers in all aspects

It's completely crazy that integration of #AI tools endangers jobs of people who made #Adobe great. Fortunately, I don't make a living from creative work, can decide for myself how long work takes, or whether my style and methods are outdated. Some friends - copywriters, designers, creatives - have already lost their jobs thanks to AI, happened very quickly. In one agency, 6 copywriters were replaced by two AI consultants. Content quality suffers. #unplugbigtech #diday #photoshop

Sounds nice. But: I paid for Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat for about 20 years. Later versions litter the machine with mysterious processes, constantly drive / network access, one can only speculate about. Acrobat GUI is horror and I don't want to pay for all the cloud crap. They are running a #tracking-based advertising network, integrate AI tools from other #bigtech - ineccaptable. I made the switch to #Linux without #Adobe. That's how it will stay.
