@Stamets Thanks for sharing your story. Sounds like this is the case for a lot of people -- they just need a hand from someone who actually cares.

I was told that this piano is 150 years old.
How does one even play it?

Someone could have wanted something like this in a corner for the look of it. A young artist may have created this for a university project: I have seen things like this happen.

Note to ugly American tourists. Kyoto is not an amusement park (as the mayor said).
I guess NASA is modifying the trees to make them bloom earlier every year.

I love it! I'd love to discuss how to make this work for universities. I've been working with @bkeegan to get our campus to adopt the fediverse, and they are scared about self-hosting, etc.
in reply to Nathan Schneider

@ntnsndr @bkeegan Love it too! We’re building something very close to this as the next phase of @newsmast - a customisable community server aimed at publishers, non-profits and academic institutions.
in reply to Nathan Schneider

@ntnsndr @bkeegan I'd love to have that discussion too. I've got lots of experience selling into universities across multiple startups - I think it would be hard to make them the *first* customers because the sales cycle is so long, but I love the space, think it's really aligned, and see the benefits for sure.

Sadly, there is no easy way of installing the tools/scripts/configurations into an existing system.

Last year on the 8th of March, I joined International Trans★Feminist Digital Depletion Strike and made a short documentation on AlWiki about it.
>> wiki.alnik.me/index.php?title=…

This year, in solidarity with all who use Cloud platforms for organising resistance against military violence and for evidencing genocide in Palestine, Varia is calling people to “meet, take action and imagine solidary approaches for boycotting, divesting and sanctioning The Cloud Regime”. Join them if you’re in Rotterdam.

If you’re not, like me, you can also tune in radio WORM and listen to Fem Fest’s all day programme. This year, I will try to make a documentation of what’s happening there. 🙂
