MangoHud performance overlay v0.8.1 reworks FPS metrics, adds FEX stats, fixes bugs gamingonlinux.com/2025/03/mang…

#MangoHud #Linux #OpenSource #LinuxGaming

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

MangoHUD is the best system monitor overlay out there, regardless of OS. Whenever I have to use Windows to play a game due to garbage anticheat I miss it dearly. RivaTuner Statistics Server is just nowhere near as good.

I just wish MangoHud would auto-configure whatever is necessary to report CPU power usage appropriately.

FEX emulator statistics is a great addition for gaming on ARM!

Spotted these two frogs outside of Union Station in DC. But I don’t think many passersby understood their message. #climate
in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

The sign references boiling frogs. It is not subtle. DC is like the most Democratic city in the US. Everyone there (bar republican members of congress) are aware of and believe in climate change.

Guardian's month-long investigation into the Lords

The Guardian has begun a month's worth of stories looking closely at the House of Lords, and already the findings have been shocking.

Read the articles on the Guardian's website

Revelations show how important a House of Citizens and the 858 project is. Just getting rid of the last hereditary peers doesn't go far enough to fix the Lords.

--One in 10 Lords get paid to give political advice.
--A Labour peer offered access to ministers.
--Multiple peers are being paid by foreign governments and repressive regimes.
--More than £1 in every £14 donated to political parties since 2001 came from those who have sat as peers in the last Parliament.

How a New Global Citizens’ Assembly Can Revive Climate Action

A new permanent Global Citizens’ Assembly for People and Planet is being established for the 2025 UN Climate Change Conference (COP30). This represents a major step forward for inclusive democratic participation in climate policy and provides a unique opportunity to refocus COPs from negotiation to action. The assembly offers a new model of global governance that is designed to be resilient to populist disruption and accelerate a just transition.

Well, it might be this I'm testing next week.

For myself so far I only had a free 8GB package to check it out. Only connected in a NAS though.

in reply to Nextcloud 📱☁️💻

so about that backup functionality. When is that coming? Updated to be compatible with the release on release date? Love nextcloud. And I'm grateful I get to use it. But that doesn't change that some core functionality that should be top priority is severely disregarded

Gaming overall on macOS is an unfunny joke, no backwards compatibility whatsoever (good luck trying to run PowerPC or 32-bit based games... which is most of the library), no Vulkan support, proprietary Metal API is both lacking in features and optimalization, modern Apple Silicon-native ports being locked down in the Mac AppStore etc.
in reply to JaneQ

Yep, they never really cared about supporting games properly.
