I have no idea how long it takes for bird seeds to sprout! I am sure plenty of sunlight and waterfowl does the trick!

Today I am taking down the artwork 'Assembly' after 14 months on display in the Jackie Clarke Collection museum. It's a little sad, but also really nice that it was visible for so long.

The interactive #art installation dealt with entanglements between communication technologies, history and care. Here's a video of me talking about why I made this work, and what it was all about: clarkecollection.ie/whats-on/e…

All 5 of the project autograph books were filled to the brim. When you wrote in a book, the room changed colour and different videos played on monitors.

you wanna create a slideshow? you use your pentium, you're gonna get about 20% slideshow. i3 7th gen pretty good gets you about 80-90%. now an i7 8th gen? that's just under 200% slideshow. imagine being able to make that much of slideshow power
in reply to Lynnesbian

ah yes. Of course I need at least an i7-8 to make slideshows.

this toot is old, but Intel's own presentations trying to convince you that only Intel will get you 200% of arbitrary performance haven't changed since then.

This is so much fun! Drive through a city somewhere in the world and listen to a local radio station! In Melbourne I was driven past the Queen Vic Market and the City Baths. The radio station never quite loaded, but I could still hear the street noises. In Seattle I got to listen to NPR and drive past the train depot and Smith Street Tower! It's a bit ASMR.

Well, here is my painting "Apples at Dawn". The lighting today isn't great for photography in my house, but you get the gist. A friend of mine runs an organic fruit and vegetable shop, and I have painted this to go on the wall behind his cash register.

@clarice overhere And it is well-known that apples and crackers with cheese go very well together! Maybe I should paint some cheese next!

The "Problem" With Linux Distros Shipping Hyprland #Linux #YouTube youtu.be/HhZ_HnqkJoo

Honestly I half think distros would accept it if Hyprland called their version of wlroots a fork. Like maybe call it Hyprroots or something.

Like how Librewolf is a firefox fork with only the branding and some settings changed.

Proton 8.0-5 brings more HDR gaming to Linux / Steam Deck plus lots of overall bug fixes and game improvements gamingonlinux.com/2024/01/prot…

#SteamDeck #Proton #Linux

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

Weird: It won’t finish starting up Jedi: Survivor if it’s set as the default version of Proton (use 8.0-5 for all), but will start the game up & run it OK if Experimental remains the default (using 8.0-5 for J:S only). The game runs fine under Experimental (the latest build from--Americanized date--1/11/24, I believe) Maybe something minor changed in how Wine/the EA launcher interact?

Launching an #art fundraiser to complete an interactive online artwork from the perspective of a crustose lichen. You can buy original lichen drawings, or donate on ko-fi or liberapay.

The work is half built but needs more time. It uses an "AI" that I have built, without any machine learning, just lichen learning.

More info: lichen.shanefinan.org

Appreciate any shares. Also I am very uncomfortable in this space of 'selling' so appreciate advice/feedback too.
