@Girl Of The Sea Asked after my frog paintings. Here is one of them! It's a local species known either as the banjo frog because of the sound it makes, or the pobblebonk. Many of them live in the nearby creeks and ponds of Hurstbridge. One of them was even carried into the house by one of my cats (it had gotten into their catio). I then safely put it back outside!

This is the portrait that made it into the Victorian Artists Society portrait exhibition which opened yesterday. Thuan, the subject of this painting, joined me for the fun! Two of my art class mates were telling him that he looked just like his painting! LOL!

One of the people at the community learning centre insisted on taking a photo of me on Thursday with my mostly completed painting. It still needs a signature, but at least in this picture I'm holding it. So, everyone knows who nearly broke her wrists painting such fine detail on those penguins! This is entitled "Tux and Sprinkles". Any guesses on which is Tux and which Sprinkles?

Well, here is my painting "Apples at Dawn". The lighting today isn't great for photography in my house, but you get the gist. A friend of mine runs an organic fruit and vegetable shop, and I have painted this to go on the wall behind his cash register.

Well, here it is! My marsupial "mouse".
Antechinus are not actually related to mice. They are just a very small relative of the kangaroo and koala.
Despite their cute appearance, they are darn feisty! A little antechinus can take down a chicken around five times its size, and eat it! The males also tend to die during a crazed mating season due to an overload of androgen.
These furry beasts are something else!
In the last hour we've had a dark storm roll in. So, the lighting isn't great for photographing the colour, but it's fine.

I just finished this painting. I am entitling it: Frog in a Turner Storm
Today is a fittingly stormy day for it!
I got all excited about painting something on a rather large round canvas. So I pulled out a detail image of just the frog.

This is a painting of the Australian pobblebonk frog. I created the frog by dabbing a bazillion little dots onto the canvas. At this size it’s hard to see every single dot! I have gone dotty!

It looks so much better with the bug part of the butterfly, and the flowers turned a dark purple/blue.

Here I am beside my painting at the Eltham Art Show! This gives you a better idea of scale. Though, the camera focussing on me, means you don't quite see all the colour in the painting.
