Microsoft's new Recall AI will take screenshots of everything you do - freaky
This will be preaching to the choir for some readers, as you didn't exactly need another reason not to use Windows right? Microsoft's new Recall AI will take screenshots of everything you do and that sounds truly terrible.Liam Dawe (GamingOnLinux)

This comes from a list of photos people put up of weird things their neighbours do. The photographer didn't even know what this was, just: "a robot holding flowers". It's from Ghibli Studio's movie Laputa: Castle in the Sky! I've always thought that Laputa should be screened with Silent Running as a double feature.

This is normal. If Proton allows the developer to focus on maintaining a single version that works well in several operative systems, why disperse efforts in several half maintained versions.
I don't know about this particular game, but I have more than once forced the Proton version over the native one, because it worked better.
People *really* do their best to be intentionally stupid don't they?

I see there's some sort of "how's Linux now" discourse going around Mastodon and so I'll give my brief summary:
To be blunt, Linux is just the least-shit option to run on your PC nowadays lol.
If you want a good start, try Kubuntu kubuntu.org/, I get along great with it. Familiar interface, without all the shovelled shit Microsoft constantly try to force on you. Same KDE Plasma interface Valve use for Steam Deck's Desktop Mode.

One of the few games I bounced off not due to gameplay but due to the story/theme. At the time it was released it felt, to me at the time, too smugly self-referential.
Maybe it's time to give it another chance.

Yeah, took them a LOT of time to acknowledge this.
Although it works wonderfully with Proton, it is still a troublesome experience: Their Kickstarter campaign promised all three desktop platforms, so another Kickstarter promise broken ๐คจ๐
