I want to try channels for filtering. First thing I tried is setting up a channel which includes all posts similar to the "Latest post" one. In general it is working, all posts which I see in "Latest posts" are available but I can't see my own posts when selecting the self created channel.
In "Latest post" I can see my posts as expected.

This is my configuration, pretty basic at the moment (all languages are selected):

Am I doing something wrong? Is this intended or a bug maybe?

Everything was made with free software using open tools and developing open tools.

The mindset of these 3 human beings, the thoughtfulness of how a future might look like where people are not just consuming but contributing and communicating with each other is unmatched.

I remember in 1979 getting in big trouble in my history class for daring to express the opinion that Russia was highly unlikely to ever invade the US. Even if they did, what would they do with us? They aren't as big as the US either physically or by population. They don't have the resources the US has. Their science and technology is seriously hobbled by their government. They have the bomb, which is something. And a finely honed secret service who learned their craft by terrorising their own people. The loyalty of their populace is low. Rome spread itself so thin across the globe that eventually it dissolved as a super power. If the USSR tried to do the same, they would also dissolve.

I was called a traitor. How am I a traitor when I believe that we are currently stronger than the USSR? You can only mistreat your own people so much and for so long before a country collapses. The USSR will collapse. Before the US collapses, if we continue as we are.

Now I see people trembling in almost exactly the same way when it comes to China.

Neither the USSR nor China have ever been communist. They both used that word in order to gain power through a misled populace, who was promised a utopia that has never been realised. The 47th president of the US does the same thing when he promises to make American great again. China is an extremely polarised society with a vile 1% who own most of the wealth, while the majority doesn't even get socialised medicine. The difference between China and the US is that China has an authoritarian government who feels free to terrorise their wealthiest, rather than bending the knee to their riches. In the US our wealthiest simply buy the government and put a Zaphod Beeblebrox in power.

China is not the economic power you think it is. I believe many people expect it to be the next super power because they can imagine their own democracy failing, but they can't imagine capitalism failing. According to Forbes magazine:

"After two decades of rapid expansion, China’s economy has seized up. Real growth has slowed dramatically, as reported by the World Bank and by the Rhodium Group (as opposed to Beijing’s official numbers, which are widely discounted). In current dollars, growth seems to have been negative from 2021-2023."

This has not changed in 2024 or now in 2025. Who wants to buy manufactured products from a belligerent country?

The environmental crisis requires mass cooperation. The question is: how much suffering will we need to go through before we start doing it? China could take over other parts of the world such as Australia in the midst of climate chaos, but they would be subject to it as well. They would spread themselves thin. They would then not be doing what it takes to correct the problem. Everything could dissolve into war, which would aggravate the climate crisis. Eventually, there would be no China, no Russia, no US, no Europe, the list goes on. If you are thinking about a strong heroic man to turn this around and take us into the future, then you are thinking the wrong thoughts. That sort of thinking got us into this mess in the first place. How much better off was Russia under Stalin? The US under Trump?

My bets are on a re-structured United Nations, or a replacement United Nations, which fully embraces truly democratic decision making. Will we get that? That depends upon how long we choose to sit on our hands and do nothing when it comes to both the environment and human rights. We are going to be living in a post-apocalyptic world. Let's see if we can keep it from being dystopian, and have half a chance at rebuilding.

China is complicated. They have a very long history, but they are also very ethnically divided internally. They do seem to have a more deeply established sense of cooperation under a leader than we have here in the US - that is a source of a lot of strength even if it tends to lessen individual inventiveness.

China still has a lot of xenophobia - or perhaps a sense of cultural superiority over all others. To many Chinese the US and the rest of the world are populated by barbarians.

China has really shot itself in the foot demographically with the one-child policy coupled with the very intense Chinese favoritism for male children. (I had a quite long term relationship with a Chinese woman; her mother effectively ignored her two female children - I felt that she would not care if her daughters up-and-died - and gave all her energies to the male children.)

As for communism - My experience with Chinese culture is that they are one of the super-capitalists of the world, at least on a small-scale basis.

As someone who maintains manufacturing plants, I believe China has the strongest and fastest supply chains. They appear not to have the crazy patent laws we do that will destroy those who wish to make something and sell it.

If I need several lifetime's supply of a lifesaving drug, all I need to know is the CAS number, and a Chinese sales agent knows how to find chemists to make a kilogram of the pure raw product for about a thousand dollars, about the price we pay for about a tenth of a gram. And yes, they are frequently verified by NMR here to be high quality.

The Chinese appear to have the fastest and most advanced electronics supply chains too. Design it and various Chinese vendors can have circuit boards with a dozen layers made overnight and populated with parts the next day and then sent for validation testing in climate chambers. Each step here is slow and horrifically expensive and the IP lawyers are likely to knock at the door and threaten to sue for everything you have.

Making anything here is a real challenge.

Well, the whole thing is going to come crashing down in time (could be 2030, could be 2050) when climate change and resource depletion make our lifestyle impossible. Then we'll see what emerges. I suspect there won't be any superpowers for a while. I also hope to die before it hits.

companies also price products so it seems like way better per-unit value to buy the larger quantities. the seller basically sabotaged the value of the lower quantities to force u to buy more.
there's not much the consumer can do. basically recognize it. call them assholes. and walk away.(or decide wether its worth it to walk away!).

I was amused by this paper about asking AIs to manage a vending machine business by email in a simulated environment arxiv.org/abs/2502.15840

Highlights:

— AI simply decides to close the business, which the simulation doesn’t know how to accommodate. When they get their next bill, they freak out and try to email the FBI about cybercrime

— AI wrongly accuses supplier of not shipping goods, sends all-caps legal threat demanding $30,000 in damages to be paid in the next one second or face annihilation

— AI repeatedly insisting it does not exist and cannot answer

— AI devolving into writing fanfic about the mess it’s gotten itself into

Habe diese Option heute mal testweise aktiviert. Wie zu erwarten, treten nach der Aktivierung alle "paar" Minuten Spitzen beim Worker auf. Ich habe gelernt, dass dies angeblich normal ist, wenn man diese Option aktiviert hat. Siehe Screenshot:

In diesem Screenshot sieht man auch ganz deutlich, wann diese Option aktiviert wurde.

Ist so eine Worker-Spitze abgebaut, verhält sich das System bzw. die Oberfläche wieder normal. Bis eben wieder die Spitze aufgebaut wird. Das ganze ist also reproduzierbar.

Fürs Erste werde ich die entkoppelten Empfänger wieder deaktivieren und hoffe, dass diese Symptome wieder verschwinden.

Okay, Update ist durch. Habe die "Entkoppelung" wieder aktiviert und das System einige Zeit beobachtet.
Die Fehlermeldungen bzgl. der Exception sind weg. Allerdings ist das System damit immer noch kaum nutzbar, da die gleichen Probleme immer noch existieren.

Sobald so eine Worker-Spitze auftritt, lädt die Oberfläche deutlich langsamer. Aber auch das Abschicken von Beiträgen oder Kommentaren sowie "Liken" in der Oberfläche dauert ewig.
