PCGamer wrote a silly article about the Steam Deck giveaway, because people kept spamming things like โ€œ/claimโ€ in the chat.
According to PCGamer they were Linux commands ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ the title even said โ€œspamming Linux commandsโ€œ, their writer has apparently never watched Twitch or played an MMO.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

That's the confirmation I need. Many people don't even know what Linux is and if we want the base to disclose it, as if it were the gospel.

Fun fact: X-ray brightness mainly depends on the size of the star. In other words, the bigger the stellar sparkler, the brighter it will glow in X-rays. โœจ

Seems funny to put a Star on NASA.

Lovely picture, Iโ€™m stunned.

Earth has about 370,000,000,000,000,000,000 (quintillion) gallons of water, with some sources easier to access and use than others. The water budget tells us where that water is โ€“ key information that helps better plan for the future.

SWOT, launching Dec. 15, will survey nearly all water on Earthโ€™s surface for the first time. It will measure the height of the worldโ€™s ocean, rivers, and lakes, helping scientists track how fresh and saltwater bodies change over time. 5 things to know: swot.jpl.nasa.gov/news/74/5-thโ€ฆ

Curious what happens on federated networks once a profile picture has been updated.
in reply to Nick Moline

Nothing apparently, at least not initially. Mastodon must cache third party profiles for a period of time.

Over the past couple weeks, Hubble explored #StarrySights! โœจ

These new Hubble images showcase the beauty, science, and cosmic activity that star clusters contain.

So it seems if I want things to federate properly to Mastodon, I need to not have separate title and content, how about if I just put in content with no title, does that work?

How do fuller posts end up on federation

I'm curious how a fuller post (i.e. one with a title, etc) looks through federation.

Other me here checking out a Friendica instance. I kinda like it, I like that it is PHP based, I like that it is less branded, I like that I can write longer posts, and I like that it supports multiple protocols in addition to ActivityPub.
