Wreckfest is a smashing good time on Steam Deck gamingonlinux.com/2023/02/wrec… #SteamDeck #Wreckfest

By 2018, less than 60% of web traffic was human & half of YouTube views were bots masquerading as people. This wild article is about how much of the Internet is fake. (Spoiler: A lot.)

which is in no small part why I've kicked Facebook and FB marketplace into the long grass...that and FB toxicity...
in reply to Sheril Kirshenbaum

hunh. Well, that explains why so much of the advertising I see is BS - it's not actually intended for a human readership.

Atomic Heart on Steam Deck video

youtube.com/watch?v=Yb1igzYFKX…

Their "Streamer Mode" does nothing and leaves copyrighted music in. So this video gets me no revenue to help the channel. Shame. #SteamDeck #AtomicHeart

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

please watch this video of Ukrainian YT about why Atomic Heart is actually Russian game. It has ENG subtitles:

I love the Nextcloud, but it would be great if the OfficeSuite, respectively the built-in CODE server would be fixed so that it can be used again without crashing the entire instance.

Been there, done that.

Had a coworker on a similar shift who would greet me with, "Congratulations! You are the winner in life's lottery!"

I stopped him one morning and said, "Look, I don't get enough sleep. I don't see my wife, my family, or my friends. This shift (3:30 AM) sucks. I don't need any reminders."

Interesting perspective....very well could be right...
Military is certainly the largest budget item....

@Kenny Chaffin But we aren't inevitably locked into a particularly selfish type of competition. I think a little bit of friendly competition is fine, so long as people are both good winners and good losers. It shouldn't mean someone is crushed.
in reply to Muse

There are also combinations.
Like, a competition of ideas is cooperative.
People adopt an idea that works well - this is both, rolled into one.

There’s one side of ActivityPub that has users and develops software. It’s the one that you know. Interestingly, there’s also a whole academic contingency who writes walls of text on the SocialHub forums and holds conferences with speakers you’ve never heard of before.

Being very experimental with my next Zine.
I'm basically writing a fiction book, splitting into several smaller parts and including illustrations, photos and e.t.c.

After my video Probono reopened the PR fixing all his Wayland issues lol, is it a coincidence?? github.com/probonopd/linuxdepl…
in reply to Brodie Robertson

I just went and saw your video, and... what in Cthulhu's name?!?! The whole situation is dumb af
in reply to Brodie Robertson

Odds of this being coincidental are very small. Nothing like showing a man how utterly out of touch he is to get his ass in gear.

Have you noticed two bright "stars" in the western sky just after sunset? Those are the planets Jupiter and Venus. Over the next few days, they'll appear closer and closer together in the sky every evening, culminating in a close conjunction on March 1st. piped.kavin.rocks/hcgj6KsR-fc?…

Just a comment. I notice you don't tend to use alt text, which would help people with visual issues and also people who would like to know more about the images. Is anyone monitoring this who might consider it?

@Cass M There's an old joke about a man having a humorous last name, and when asked about it he says, "That's MISTER (insert name here) to you!" This sounds like she's referring to the joke.

hi NASA bot. I really love the posts you’re sharing. I want to share them as well, but I’ve made a commitment to only share posts that have AltText describing their images. Can I encourage you to be inclusive of all social media users by using AltText? Even the official blue-bird NASA accounts use AltText. Thanks and I hope you consider it 😊

@Shaun Griffith It's called "situational narcissism". Certain situations draw the narcissist out in many people.

When Linnaeus coined the name homo sapiens in 1758, he assigned our species intelligence and discernment, sharing the trust of the Enlightenment in our rational capacities. I'm not sure that has truly ever been the case.

At Japanese zoos they run "fire drills" in which they practise what needs to be done during a disaster when some of the animals escape. I assume during the drill, the person playing the bear was not in fact shot with a sedative--but you do hear the tranquiliser gun go off!

Brilliant acting by the bear! His behaviour is pretty accurate!

@Gargron Some inconsistencies here that need attention, I think. When is "sexually explicit" considered "pornographic," and when is it simply content that should have a warning? I think the vagueness may be why I've been seeing a lot of porn lately, including accounts that only post porn.

That's a discontinued message board powered by Discourse and its boilerplate terms of service. I guess I've got to take it down if it's somehow getting confused with other things.

so if you’re the Enterprise, you’d have to be concerned about the area not being a vacuum and offering resistance to movement ? From documentaries I have seen, nebulas only affect sensors, not the ability to move and go very fast.

Wayland Only Improves With Developer Support #Linux #YouTube youtu.be/yqwKCVYmkxw

Wayland doesn't work on BSDs, since a lot of Wayland code (compositors, client libraries, etc) rely on Linux-only set of APIs.
