This is a fantastic development! We should also thank forward-looking distros like @elementary and its AppCenter for Everyone initiative for paving the way.

Now, will #Canonical follow this move with Snap? Because I'd much rather support an ecosystem that in turn has the mechanisms in place to support the developers.

Assembled a little field recording kit with stuff I had laying around and put together my research notes on it so far on my website: ritualdust.com/music/field-rec…

Really looking forward to doing more of this

in reply to Lizbeth

we 're going to a retreat on a small island nearby next week for a couple of days to do just that! 😁
in reply to Lizbeth

I'm not sure yet, I'll borrow a friend's, our setup will depend on the weather a lot. I was hoping for sound of leaves and birds, but it might be more like sounds of thunder and hail >__>
in reply to Devine Lu Linvega

@neauoire hopefully the weather chills out a bit, how has it been recently around your parts? looks like the lower west cost is being hit with a lot of snow and stuff, it's kinda wild to see.
in reply to Lizbeth

it's been pretty shitty these past few weeks, ready for spring very much.

@kensanata yeah a phone is ok but only gets you so far, my friend is using a pair of LOM microphones and the subtle sounds it catches up and the immersiveness is really worth it

Day 22: Best Enterprise Episode

These are the voyages obviously, nothing controversial happened in that episode at all.

In a mirror darkly is a two parter, otherwise it'd have been that.

The best part of Enterprise was the story arc of the Vulcans being totally unlike later Vulcans.

But let's go with Carbon Creek since it's stand alone and I really liked it.

I forgot that Tig’s character is introduced at the beginning of the season! I’m making my boyfriend watch his first Star Trek series ever and I keep teasing that she’ll show up eventually.
in reply to Jonathan

@jonoor I thought it was much later as well, I love how well she steals any scene she's in

Seriously, just stop using Twitter.

A once-forgotten exoplanet was resurrected, then dismissed, then resurrected again, and now appears doomed. Kepler-1658 b simply can't seem to catch a break. It now appears to be spiraling toward its host star – and will likely crash in ~3 million years. go.nasa.gov/3KIDV79

In 1977, NASA began looking for women astronauts.

Sally Ride spotted an ad about it in the Stanford school newspaper & applied. She was one of six women chosen.

In 1983, Ride became the first American woman to travel into #space. Her role as a mission specialist was to work a robotic arm to move satellites.

Ride went on to teach at UC San Diego & worked to promote women & girls in STEM. She also wrote children’s books about exploring space. nasa.gov/audience/forstudents/… #HistoryRemix

In middle school, walking home on a busy avenue in the 'burbs, my friend and I would jump over cars…by hopping while their shadows passed.

I used to play this game on the bus home from school, I’d pretend I was driving an imaginary remote control car along the pavement, dodging pedestrians, signs and other obstacles, jumping junctions etc. 😁

I don't get the download speed limitation. I once had 5 Mbps downloads and the house ran with 2 Arch computers, and 1 on Void just fine.

In the worst case-scenario, you can just set updates to download overnight (at least on Void) and suspend the computer once they're finished, then install instantly the next day.

in reply to Malinux

@malin You can make it work with a slower connection, it's just that you have to plan your day around when you're going to update. With something faster you can just get it done whenever you're free
