That's such an important consideration in these situations: the #tech pro, whether it's Scott Jenson or @anildash or Bill Gates or whoever--one doesn't need to be rich or a CEO to be a techie snob although it helps--is always condescending.
They imagine themselves on a loftier plane, high above the seething masses of the Internet about whom they routine entertain notions that a more straightforward writer would rightly call fascistic: technology people tend to regard themselves subtly (or flagrantly) as if they were a more evolved sort of human being, scintillating of intellect and deep in knowledge (i.e. they routinely copy software outputs into their work and even their talk) and when they deign to speak to a grubby "anime avatar" nobody on the Internet, it's always in a paternalistic mood, as if they were speaking to a wayward child who just doesn't understand the things that are crystal-clear to their betters.
