In all my questionable years mixing it up with some tetchy person on the Internet, I have never asked an insincere question. My questions are always in good faith but that's from my perspective: I would like information so I'm asking for it.

But Scott Jenson, sometime #UX advisor to #Mastodon (hey @Gargron do you know this Scott Jenson blockhead? just curious, and the question is sincere), psychologically conditioned by all the years and decades of living a corporate managerial life saturated with unacknowledged dishonesty, views "good faith" quite differently. For him, a "good faith" question is one that does not embarrass him.

Jenson sensed shame if he answered my questions honestly...so he didn't. He hedged and deflected and evaded and finally made up some stupid reason to run away, saying all the same things that myriads of other professionals say in the same circumstances, when they realize that they're not dealing with an easy mark.
