What I find baffling about people shunning the #FediPact are the assertion that Meta should be treated as all other instances and not blocked, as if over a decade of conduct is too unreliable of a data point to ever possibly judge a corporate entity.

On that note am I insane or would any admin out there (apart from the ones running anarchy instances) tolerate this from another instance? Because this talk of "We need to wait and see" implies that so far you have no problem with this kind of conduct within your federation, that this is the behavior you expect from the rest of Fedi. Surely we can do better than that don't y'all think?

In general there are two distinct reactions to #Meta:

1) no way, no how -- either because of their history, the strong presence of anti-trans and racist groups on #Threads, belief there's no way to mitigate threats, or whatever. #FediPact is an example of this.

2) acknowledging all those issues but weighing them against potential upsides and considering what criteria make sense. Yours is one of the best-thought-out examples of this I've seen so far.
