@danwchan Thank you Danny!

Unfortunately I missed the #solsticeschool2023 hashtag (and a lot of interesting presentations!), but I signed up for your talk (I hope to be able to connect in time 🙂 )

I will give an online talk for the fedi Solstice School on 2023-07-26 (Wed) 13:00 UTC

"Funktal: a frugal functional programming language"

Funktal is a "modern" functional programming language for the Uxn virtual machine, a tiny VM with 64 kB of memory. I will explain why I created it, some of the cool functional features it has, how it is implemented and why, and where it could be going.

Excited to present some work at #solsticeschool2023 from the Spring conducted at Biotech Without Borders. We deployed an instance of the BioArtBot started at Counter Culture Labs by @timdobbs . It's a little bit of lab #automation, #bacteria, and #art. If that interests you pop by at 17:00 EDT Aug 3rd. Pls check it out along with other wonderful contributions at

Hello Fediverse! "followers" (hopefully also followers of followers, :boost_requested:)

I *know* you have a topic (practical or pedantic 😛) to share with the #fediverse in a 10-15 min talk, so I'd like to invite y'all to sign up for #solsticeschool2023 as a presenter! It's good fun, flexible to schedule, and a way to see some of the folks you interact with here in another medium! Also a nice way to find others to interact with!

#Abstract / talk description due July 1
