This artist should have so many more fans than he does. His work is exquisite! If he toured Europe, his music would go off! We were so close to collaborating on one of my musicals in order to take it to Helsinki Midsummer Festival, And then the lockdowns happened. He writes protest songs about the environment and the need for peace. So, radios are shy of carrying him in his own country. But that's the stuff I love!

I'm so tempted to put Linux on my laptop as Win11 that is preinstalled on it is driving me insane.
This seems like a good way to try it before comitting.
I really didn't expect 1010Music to add USB audio, but it's a very welcome addition!
It's not the world's most feature-rich implementation—just stereo in/out 44.8k/24-bit—but it's perfect for my needs and lets me get rid of one more device from my live setup.

Fuck 👏 off 👏 "stale" 👏 bots.
If you are a developer that uses these to automatically close issues that have been valid for months and conveniently rely on a response from ONE person in an ocean of other responses, please reconsider your life choices. If there were no other responses? Fine. That's on the person to reply. But the bot should immediately eject itself from the conversation the moment someone else chimes in. Closing issues like this seriously hurts discoverability for developers and users alike.

Always lovely to see in the Highlands Of Scotland.

In the opposite direction I also love Thomas Hardy - but his endings can be very sad, like the protagonist being hanged (she was innocent) while the bad guy runs off with her sister; or the title character just barely failing in life while dying above the bar where his wife is partying away; or the man who sells his wife and daughter, in jest while she takes it seriously and then, years later, he falls in love with a girl and it is unclear whether she is his sold daughter or not....
I'd recommend the prodigious "Dream of the Red Chamber" for a book that is very happy, very sad, and very mysterious - it begins with the Fairy of Disenchantment trying to restore the pillars that hold up the sky and she creates 30,001 jade stones to use in the reconstruction. One stone is left over and it wonders why it was left out and get depressed, so it goes to the underworld where it waters a flower with its tears - and the two are incarnated to become the main characters of the novel, except for

It's an amazing book (all 2500 pages of it!)
