After seeing how big-name, loudly-advertised apps like Nextcloud News and Nextcloud Social were abandoned and became unusable due to bugs as Nextcloud versions changed interfaces, it's ludicrous to try to advertise Nextcloud on the basis of its app ecosystem.
Bring the old, highly-touted apps back into current maintenance, and then you can talk. Until then, your users are right to be terrified to build reliance on any apps other than basic file-sharing.

That suggests an experiment (or statistical study) which is to look at families where the parents have a strong accent but live in areas where that accent is rare.
I grew up with a 'Chinese accent,' the R/L inversion ('flied lice'), and went through speech pathology classes to correct it. You can still hear Chinese in my sisters' voices, but not in mine.
Mom and Dad never taught us any Cantonese. It was the 'parental' language.
Most infants I've met chatter, squeal, and baby talk to themselves independent of direct engagement so I can see how this would work. Seems like it would be less fun as a parent/guardian/tribesmember to not engage though.
