Good morning everyone @Friendica Support

I would like to try to understand why from Friendica I can't connect to the Wordpress blog of @.mau. :friendfeed: already federated with @Matthias Pfefferle plugin, which is instead displayed correctly by Mastodon.
The blog is xmau.com/ while the user who publishes is @Notiziole di .mau.

If I paste the address of this post xmau.com/wp/notiziole/2024/08/…

in the Friendica toolbar, I get an error, while if I paste it on mastodon, I can view the post (here is an example: mastodon.social/@

Furthermore, if I try to search on Friendica for the user @Notiziole di .mau. I can see it, but if I try to follow it, I still get an error.

NB: I also have federation problems with Lemmy and not just with Friendica

Have any of you figured out what the problem might be that prevents Friendica and Lemmy from federating with that blog (but not Mastodon)?

Liam have you tried forming a party? Idk if it's the servers being wonky or EAC related but we couldn't play as a team last night, either me inviting or being invited immediately dropped everyone from the team. Solo ot matchmade parties work fine

Kevin Gross and I have a new paper out in PLOS Biology about how the ubiquitous incentive structures that motivate hard work also discourage scientists from taking on high-risk, high-return research projects.

We're heading into Second Summer, and I think Autumn lasts about two weeks.

MIT dropped its contract with Elsevier, the huge scientific journal company. Their library instead arranged alternate access to journals and tools for researchers to get them. They’re saving $2 million/year:

I like this meme! I like even more the fact that the image was created by Louis Wain. I remember seeing some of his work when I was a child. It had some how made it's way from Britain to small town USA. Netflix has in its collection a movie about Wain's life: The Electrical Life of Louis Wain starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Sounds like fediblock with all the bad that entails. What online moderation really needs is a mechanism for due process. Cc: @ntnsndr

A cool video about fever and the immune system, what it is and how it works. Fun fact, rhinovirus only infects your respiratory tract because it is a much cooler 33C than your regular 37C body and can't survive in a hotter environment even without fever ( youtube.com/watch?v=cRZOUcpiOx… ).

"Fever is doing more than just making you miserable – it's fighting to save your life. But what exactly is it?"

in reply to Jeff Gilchrist

Why haven't viruses adapted to fever through evolution over the past hundreds of millions of years? Adapted viruses that survive the heat now find new healthy humans are too cold for them so harder to infect new hosts ( youtube.com/watch?v=cRZOUcpiOx… ). 2/

Oh dear!
Let me explain this image. Someone from the US is trying to insert a plug on one of their devices into an Australian power outlet. Australia's outlets are 240V. US outlets are 120V max. Australian power outlets are switched off at the outlet. Those are the switches at the far upper corners. YOWCH!
in reply to Muse

Someone jury-rigs this get up, but doesn't think to get a power adapter kit for international travel?

Around here is a radiology company that has a few trucks (don't know why). The logo on the side is the California State flag grizzle bear but with the skeleton visible (as would be seen on an X-Ray.)
