Luanti has been removed from Google Play due to a DMCA notice from Tracer.AI. We have filed a counter-notice, but this isn't the first time.Luanti (Luanti Blog)
The catch is that the media files are under a very restrictive license, forbidding any use outside of Arma games (i.e. literally >99.9% of games) and any commercial use.
Will probably be a lot of work until this actually becomes a fully free-as-in-freedom game.

(1) You're ready to sacrifice when libre replacement to your favorite proprietary software is not available
(2) You starts donating to libre projects to support its development. This is far ethical than purchasing proprietary license/subscription.
So, is what you're saying that the average "Linux" user somehow(!?) still hasn't caught up to the GNU in GNU/Linux? Or doesn't distinguish between downloading opaque binaries (flatpak anyone?) and programs built from source by your distribution or by yourself. How could that have happened? /S
GNU meaning: we only run free software, and all free software can be compiled to run on GNU/Linux.

in my opinion, we should blame it on the BSD / MIT style licenses that require nothing from downstream.
Corporations have access to thousands of libraries at no cost and no restrictions... People in general don't appreciate things that come easy, and tend to be irresponsible towards those things.
Does the added unpaid maintenance burden worth it now, that due to choosing MIT vs GPL, hundreds of proprietary junk use your code? I don't think so.
Vim, Neovim, Emacs, and everything free software that can be compiled against whatever the distro maintainers put their minds to, keep winning.
Yet another reason we call the offending software "proprietary garbage".
then we are back to square one, software companies have no problem exploiting their users, as long as their users don't care, and the FSF can't make the users care, because then "what about muh games".
The users don't do anything to force the devs to make free software, because if they took a stance that would mean no more playing with non-free software.
this is the circle of not giving a f*ck.

it's funny how people don't understand that operating systems (just like all other software projects or products) are named by the devs as whatever they want. It's branding and trademarks.
the "Manjaro is not Arch Linux" is the same argument. Manjaro is whatever its devs call Manjro, Arch Linux is whatever its devs call "Arch Linux".
