I would really like to try out Monado (especially because they have hand tracking for the Valve Index) but I have no idea how to get it working. I can barely find any information about it online.
At least for me Steam still gets see trough when switching from for example Library to Store, etc. It's even worse after todays update, because the bottom part of the store gets see-trough for a second every time I scroll. So it seems a bit premature to make this the stable release, IMO.
Another fresh release went out recently for The Force Engine, a rebuilt game engine to play STAR WARS - Dark Forces and eventually Outlaws nicely on modern systems.
I'm divided about not counting ChromeOS with Linux.
On the hand, I could argue that this is unfair and misleading, because ChromeOS is essentially a Linux distribution with some proprietary components.
On the other hand, it can also be argued that most ChromeOS users are not necessarily aware or interested in the fact that their operating system is based on Linux, and that they have different needs and preferences from Linux users.
The Venn diagram of overlapping users is small I suspect. I'm a huge Crostini fan, but I don't think there are that many like me.

I remember reading this article when it was first published. I was a freshman in college, just starting to study computer science. The future seemed so limitlessly bright and I was so excited to be in it. There was never any single moment that broke me out of that, but holy hell has all the brightness and excitement been drained out of things.
