So #Nestle is apparently really, really bad..
I knew about some of it (like the recent scandal with #Perrier water) but not all, for example:
- the lobbying for removing access to water as a human right
- the aggressive extraction of water in order to bottle it and sell it for profit
- the use of forced child labour to produce sugar
- forcing their bad milk baby formula on people from developping countries
Somehow they just get along with paying some fines when found out and continuing their unethical business.
I'm not sure what the best source for all this is (let me know if you have one) but I'm going to try and boycott their products. Is there an app that can tell you if a brand belongs to Nestle since I don't think it's always shown on the packaging? In the meantime I found this: ethicalconsumer.org/food-drink…

Nestlé appears in many of our guides, from the more obvious coffee and chocolate, through to soft drinks and coffee, and all the way to pet food, and perfume & aftershave due to its perhaps less well known stake in L'Oreal.Ethical Consumer

hello british users on this webbed site. please explain to me why the speed camera sign depicts an 1800s bellows camera.
do not make the same mistake that my notoriously british friend lucy did in assuming that this is a box camera with the lens facing towards the viewer with a mounting bracket. this is a bellows camera facing sideways with the lens pointed at the road. read em and weep.

@soop you can use compact.exe to do it in the background and also choose the more aggressive LZMS compression algorithm (albeit at the expense of needing to periodically run it again to compress new files)
you can also use winget to install CompactGUI, which will run in the background and re-run compact on the folders you have it set to watch whenever Windows tells it that the system is idle :3

When using, contributing to software in the form of code, you dont have to subscribe to someones political leanings.
But when you look at the shit thrown at the devs of lemmy for being "tankies" aka the cia word for communists, people who want equal rights for everyone, the double standards become a problem.
The world has a huge reactionary problem. Veganism, climate change, imperialism, all this is "culture war" but not supporting "tankies" is fine?
Y'all need to stop and think.
Cancel culture at it‘s finest. People have to stop putting all of the weight in single persons political or personal views.
That sucks sooooo hard!
@frameworkcomputer is cool, @hyprland is probably cool (don’t use it), #FOSS is cool, #Linux is cool. Even #microsoft is cool from time to time, even though their products are mostly not.
Stop bitching around for every shitty detail.
