by Roberto — Phage-bacteria population dynamics can be remarkably complex. This is reflected in the natural history of both; new phage defense systems in bacteria and anti-defense systems in phage seem to be discovered daily. Behind these intricate strategies to help in the reproductive success of each lies the basic problem of any predator-prey relationship.

I was young, maybe 12 years old. My dad had a computer for work, and internet was just being rolled out to most people in rural Ireland.
I copied some HTML source code from some other site and started tinkering with it, and made a website about music. I got frustrated when I couldn't figure out how to get it online. It was basic HTML and I had no idea how to put in images or anything like that.
I remember feeling like I was doing something that could get me in trouble.

'“I’m not an artist; I can’t draw anything else,” she said in a recent interview with Quanta. It was “a lot of draw and erase, draw and erase, draw and erase.” After a year of trial and error, she homed in on elegant sheets and looping ribbons to represent atomic structures. These drawings, which first appeared in the journal Advances in Protein Chemistry in 1981, became known as ribbon diagrams.'

A judge has forced Elon Musk to disclose who helped him buy Twitter.
And to no one's surprise: Two rich Russians from Putin's inner circle were part of the deal. Their names are Petr Aven and Vadim Moshkovich, and allegedly they are related to companies on the list.
And clearly, EU parliamentarian Guy Verhofstadt is not having it.

Obviously, indirect Russian relations in itself is not proof of Russian influence.
I will do some more digging.

A few were down like one beautiful pink dahlia, but for the most part, the flowers survived.
Our world is very small now, but I do believe we get just as much enjoyment from the flowers we grow ourselves as we would seeing them anywhere else in the universe.
We all found comfort in the fact that most of our flowers weathered the storm.
Now, off to surprise my husband. Every day, he requests bacon and eggs for breakfast and gets something approved on his diet instead, but today, he gets the real deal.
He will be so excited.

Bythotrephes longimanus (cederströemi), is called the Spiny Water Flea for obvious reasons. It is an invasive species introduced to #GreatLakes in the 1980s from Europe. They are a large (1.5 cm) and highly predaceous #cladoceran #zooplankton that eat 75% of their weight/d. They peak late in the year to huge densities at times. While they compete with planktivorous fishes, they are also a desired prey for fishes like Alewife and Yellow Perch.

in reply to Fionnáin • • •I can't remember if I followed any guide. I don't think I did.
I had taken some books out from the library about making websites, but I found them very confusing and think I just somehow figured it out on the computer.
In those days, there never seemed any limit to what I could do with a computer if I just kept mucking about. These days I think I rely too much on online forums or guides, although that also speeds things up a lot.
