Our local edible garden trail is on. I met a woman who’s turned a plain grassy slope into terraced and mulched raised beds with many types of citrus, pomegranates, almonds, every vegetable, and salvias to bring in pollinators. It took her five years from grass slope to the capacity to feed her neighbours in community dinners, her next move. I came home with a salvia cutting I don’t have and I’ll send back to her some of mine. She gave me so much hope.
Playing with light and bokeh. Also, check out the cute little group of ladybugs!

A few were down like one beautiful pink dahlia, but for the most part, the flowers survived.
Our world is very small now, but I do believe we get just as much enjoyment from the flowers we grow ourselves as we would seeing them anywhere else in the universe.
We all found comfort in the fact that most of our flowers weathered the storm.
Now, off to surprise my husband. Every day, he requests bacon and eggs for breakfast and gets something approved on his diet instead, but today, he gets the real deal.
He will be so excited.

I also got unknown bulbs but was not aware of what the flowers were called. Now I know, thanks.
Good morning. Summer surprise when I found this Passion Flower on the vines along the side of the house I’m staying in for this trip.

1 - hostile to newcomers? Not my experience - but it is true #mastodon would benefit from a “new users” place. Perhaps a #NewUser hashtag
2 - poor discoverability: follow some hashtags that provide reliably diverse content of follow a super-booster like @lisamelton
3 - too serious? Follow some hashtags like #bloomScrolling #mosstodon etc.
hmmm… looks like all 3 of these valid items could be handled by recommending some hashtags during on-boarding.
