While looking for pics of bleps for Bleptember, I stumbled on this old picture from April 2021, before I cleared all the moss of our garage roof.
Moss or no moss, the cats love this roof. The garage, an old barn, is built into a hill so the lowest part of that side is only about 60cm off the ground ie, a perfect height for being tickled when a human is walking along the adjacent footpath.
1 - hostile to newcomers? Not my experience - but it is true #mastodon would benefit from a โnew usersโ place. Perhaps a #NewUser hashtag
2 - poor discoverability: follow some hashtags that provide reliably diverse content of follow a super-booster like @lisamelton
3 - too serious? Follow some hashtags like #bloomScrolling #mosstodon etc.
hmmmโฆ looks like all 3 of these valid items could be handled by recommending some hashtags during on-boarding.
A colleague of mine created a collection of unique cutout images with precise high quality assets (by combing several hundred images into a high resolution image to magnify across the full "depth of field").
