I think "just let certain apps listen to certain keys" is absolutely the right way to do global shortcuts. It requires the apps to change nothing (and lets be real, a lot of apps are running in wine or xwayland, and are never going to implement a wayland protocol).
I also don't want my WM eating inputs, claiming that they are for a global keybind. If my PTT button is "control", i don't want it ONLY passed as a shortcut. I want it to behave normally, but also Discord can listen

As 2024 marks the resurgence of RSS and Atom, I decided to update my rudimentary RSS tools from 2007 to make them contemporary and works under Python 3. The release v1.0 marks this step and allow everyone to use and improve the RSS toolset.

As web platforms continue to deteriorate in quality, and with the diminishing visibility across various pseudo-social networks coupled with the decline of RSS culture, the emergence of new open-source, federated networks using ActivityPub (a glorified RSS format) seems particularly timely. I believe that reviving open-source tools developed in 2007 for handling RSS is increasingly relevant. Many of these new federated platforms are revitalizing RSS, which is a trend that deserves encouragement and support.

yes it is, I was astounded that nobody recommended it to me when I was going through Arch, Gentoo and the like when NixOS has all of their advantages and none of their PITA. At the same time if you know what you want it’s both easier to use and more stable than β€œeasy” distros like Ubuntu that shit the bed as soon as you try to venture off the beaten path. 9/10
