what #rss feed readers do people use? please boost!!
i tested my new rss feed on as many random ones as i could find through a web search, but i want to test on ones people actually use, especially ones that render the full post within their interface. i personally have vore.website and rad reader[1] (both made by ppl on here! ) so i already tested on those.

Hi @Melanie Wehowski ,thank you
I explained myself wrong , if I want to read RSS feeds in my Friendica , for example I generate the feeds from here RSS Bridge
which link should i copy into my #Friendica to read #RSS Feeds
I've been using it for a while and it's pretty awesome. The one feature that I really miss though is being able to 🔍 search for specific articles and texts. That's a deal breaker for me so stick with 🍮 Handy News Reader.
As 2024 marks the resurgence of RSS and Atom, I decided to update my rudimentary RSS tools from 2007 to make them contemporary and works under Python 3. The release v1.0 marks this step and allow everyone to use and improve the RSS toolset.

Under-the-radar late night launch: RSS Parrot is live! It talks like Mastodon, but it doesn't walk like Mastodon. BUT! It will relay any RSS feed straight into your timeline.
Turn Mastodon into your very own feed reader. Follow anything that has an RSS feed and get a toot about new posts.
How? Mention @birb with the address you want to follow.
More details at https://rss-parrot.net. Boost for visibility 😀

Today, a very niche tip for RSS fans
As well as Mastodon's built-in hashtag following system, you can also follow hashtags through RSS instead:
1. Search for a hashtag on a Mastodon server's website
2. Add .rss to the end of the URL
3. Use this URL as the feed address for that tag
For example to subscribe to #Dogs on mstdn.social you would use this address in your feed reader:
Commafeed is a very good open source self-hosted replacement for Google Reader.
Has been my #RSS reader for many years now. It used whole width of my screen when other readers did not. And it even got an interface refresh recently.
Do you understand that is about CONTROL or TRUST as a path we need to take?
A gate is locked, a bridge is a free flow, in everyday life we don't have gates on bridges, this simple truth is non-obverse to the #geekproblem and their coding metaphors
#RSS is a bridge, closed source API is generally a gate.

Here's the thing: they don't even have to. Every #Mastodon account has an #RSS feed. For example, here's mine:
https://mstdn.social/@rysiek.rss
Every hashtag has an RSS feed as well (as seen from a given instance), for example:
https://mstdn.social/tags/Science.rss
Your audiences can follow you without ever setting up an account on fedi, with any RSS reader.
All items looks the same with #gitweb #RSS (and I suspect also #ATOM ) feeds like this:
Are there any ideas what may cause this?
