My lemons are a little orange in colour. This photo makes them look even more orangey. We live on the side of a hill, and you can see the solar panels on our roof peaking under the branches.
I'm posting this because the flowers right now are making the entire property smell gorgeous! So sweet! So fresh! The bees seem to think so as well!

in reply to Muse • • •That's Linda Ronstadt? (BTW, the singing looked, to my eyes, lip synched.) Nevertheless it was a quite good - and unlike a lot of Gilbert & Sullivan, understandable to American ears.
I was rather surprised at a show by Rhiannon Giddens when she broke out into a Verdi song; turns out she began as an opera singer.

in reply to Muse • • •@Karl Auerbach Singing and filming can be a difficult combination. That is 100% Linda's voice. If you only listen to her voice, it's amazing how effortless that performance is. I would want the finest sound reproduction as well! As such, that may be something that is done in post.
I'm going to speak heresy here. Despite films and television being visual art forms, if your sound is bad then your production is sunk. The sound is more important than the visuals, even though you do want good visuals.

in reply to Muse • • •@Muse - Our local professional company, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, used to be filled with refugees from the Royal Shakespeare Company; they were never mic-ed, they knew how to project their voices, even if that involved a lot of spitting. Younger actors seem to have less skill with voice articulation and projection - and thus need to be mic-ed and backed by a good sound reinforcement system run by someone who knows their stuff.
That lack of skill of articulation and projection seems to have hit TV and movies hard, and badly. We are surprised at how many new TV shows we have to pause and go back to try to understand what was said, even to the point of turning on captioning. It's rather difficult to forgive TV/film people for poor capture of comprehensible voice - it's rather a sign that the director's attention is more on the scenery than on the actors or the story.
