For the past few months, I've had the opportunity to be a tester for the fair-trade @murena @Fairphone in the US, running the de-Googled e/OS version of Android. We have worked out a lot of kinks, and it is now genuinely a fantastic daily-driver phone.
The wait is over! We have been waiting for this for a long time and now are more than excited to share with you this big news! The highly-repairable, modular and deGoogled Murena Fairphone 4 has finally arrived to the USA.
I suspect this is going to sound ridiculous, but - do you know whether the Fairphone is compatible with the Google Fi mobile service? We're on Fi because it offers the best coverage, reliability, and pricing where we live and regularly travel. But I would *love* to replace my Moto phone with a Fairphone for all the device-level benefits!! @murena @Fairphone

This year I bought three DLC packs for games I'm playing. I might buy a few more. I'm not buying anything new until I get my unfinished games to single digits and my unplayed games to double-digits.
So I need to start four more games and then beat nine games. I figure by the next Steam sale I will easily get there, but I can't buy so many games that I will be at 100 unplayed games, so I will have a very limited amount I can buy.

Never played the original, but I throughly enjoyed playing this game. I felt like I had to after playing HL:A. The gameplay and varied level design are amazing especially with the graphical overhaul they did to the original.

Someone in the Barbie art department Google searched for a map in that area. They found one that happened to include the nine-dash line, and had no idea that it was of any significance, and so incorporated it into the film image.
Vietnam should have voiced their concern to the production company. The production company should have edited out the line. With this publicity China will now have an unfortunate stance on the whole thing.
Artist may have googled the map, but you can't just swipe the image off Google and use it - you'd have to pay licensing fees. So you have your design department make a map based on your findings, which would probably include the nine-dash line.
I suspect the graphic designers were not aware of the geopolitical situation, quite possible if none of them were from the region, and apparently the legal team also missed it. Another reason why having a diverse team is useful!
Indeed, I also tend to believe this was not intentional, they simply were not aware of the implications.... and I suspect most people would have missed this detail if not for the hullabaloo.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills because it seems like no one else is noticing this "world map" is completely unlike the real world map. There's even another dotted line between what might be Canada and Greenland?
In universe, this map seems to be the creation of a Barbie with no actual contact with the Real World, so that's why it is so bizarre.
Out of universe, it's plausible that the artist placed the 8 and 10 dotted lines as an easter egg joke, not thinking they would be a big deal. I think this map is a physical prop, rather than CGI VGX. In other words, it would have been painted by an artist working in England or California, not some CGI wage slave in (possibly) China.
For a little context, it seems that there was a different movie that slipped through the cracks for a week, and the Vietnamese censorship staff were disciplined for missing it. So with the Barbie Movie, the censorship staff may simply be in CYA mode. This bizarre "World Map" might be borderline ridiculous, but if you were just disciplined and your job threatened, would you take that chance?
