(1/2) Timetk for Python 🚀🚀🚀

The timetk, one of the main R packages for time series analysis and forecasting ❤️, by Matt Dancho, is now available in Python 🐍. The package provides a variety of tools for working with time series data and analyzing it. The Python version leverages pandas for processing time series data and plotly for visualization.

One positive that's come out of the recent SNS shake-ups is encountering new and deeply insightful voices I wouldn't have found in a more stable social network clusters/hierarchy. This article on letter writing philosophers, for example:

Similar concept of less formal research letters is something I'd love to see revived for the modern age!

This sucks so much. I kept telling numerous people " #discord is NOT a forum, it is an IRC app, stop building your communities in it around stuff that needs to be found with a search engine and archived, it's a bad idea for numerous reasons including the overpopulation of server topics in an app that has a 100 server limit" but nobody listened. I hate being right.

We're about to have yet ANOTHER internet library of alexandria situation assuming this shit retroactively applies to existing stuff.

So well deserved, she cracked a puzzle everyone else had abandoned as hopeless.

Love this. Wish we saw more of this in our headlines and less about politicians, celebrities and influencers.

I wonder why? Are there a bunch of new people gaming that didn’t used to?

There is also self-selection bias. I feel like Linux people are more likely to not do the survey

The co-op has been broken for a while now, when playing with a Windows friend. I remember having to copy a DLL from a genuine Windows machine to make it work. Did they fix that too?

Despite all the known issues with these (& other) prizes, this one makes me particularly happy: it is extremely well deserved and (another) clear example of what basic science can do for humanity.

It's surprising that gamers can stomach the performance of some of those titles on the deck! It's amazing they even run at all, but things like CP2077 are a massively degraded experience on the deck with reduced crowd density, etc. And I tried Starfield on deck and it's fine for exploration but combat felt horrible.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux 🐧🎮

Hogwarts Legacy is still up there 😀 cool. And I'm surprised to see people playing Starfield on Deck, or Cyberpunk. Cool stuff.

I'm probably just in the exact wrong mood but a lot of this reads like "Don't aspire to anything better, sit and stew in your situation!"

@Gargron @andypiper I am again not showing up in search consistently, when showing up at all. Even “from: shoq” produces erratic results. Is this a known issue?
Also, please note that the search examples don’t make it clear whether “from: user” should include space after the colon or not. Both produce results, but very different results. With the other failures considered, it’s hard to say which is correct.
in reply to Shoq

It's the same syntax rule as on Google, Discord, Reddit, and Twitter. You can't put a space there, how could we possibly know if you want to search for the words "from shoq" or filter only by posts from shoq?
in reply to Eugen Rochko

Wouldn’t search words “from shoq” have no colon at all?” I don’t recall all the other syntaxes, but not contesting it. Just tried Twitter. It too produces results for both, but more for no space (user wouldn’t know easily that its wrong). But whichever it is, I still feel it should be more explicit because visually it’s not clear in the tip. It sure “looks” like a space after the colon on the tip to me.

I was in the latest Steam Pals 😀
