I don't agree. The atrocities in Gaza (and the West Bank) are how Zionism is being carried out. The goal is the destruction of the Palestinian people so that the Jews have Israel entirely to themselves. The only reason Christians are safe (for now) is because the Zionists want money from the US.

Establishing a theocracy has never made the world a better place, and establishing a Jewish state won't, either.

Nuance is critical in many conversations. I let the "Zionist" word slide because my brain just heard: right-wing nationalist Christian Americans who want to preserve Israel for their own needs. DOH!

I have heard people abroad, most especially Australia because I live here, judge the US in similar terms to Israel. "What's wrong with Americans, are they all stupid?" This one had me reeling: "We should do something about the American race." What?!! Recently, a US foreign exchange student returned home after only a few weeks here, because other students kept asking her, "Why aren't you fat?" That may sound complimentary, but have numerous people say that to you over and over again with a sneer. She was being bullied. This is part of the common stereotype that US citizens are fat, rich, and stupid.

Are all US citizens raving lunatic MAGAs? Are we all right-wing religious lunatics? Are we all out to take-over and destroy the world? Are we a toddler state with a toddler in chief who gets to play with nuclear arms?
