@nyrath Why do I suddenly have the urge to take it in my hand and roll it around and feel the spikes on my palms. Ahh...

I'd love to view this, but it's only available to people with "a valid business email address". So I guess individual users can go pound sand eh?

My new blog post is now up!

You can contribute to KDE with non-C++ code

I always see:

  • people being told they can contribute to KDE with C++/QML
  • people being told they can contribute to KDE without code

But I don't often see:

  • people being told that they can contribute to KDE with code that is not C++

I like C++, QML, and even CMake, but you might not be interested in them or you might just not be willing to spend time learning another language, and that's perfectly fine.

In this blog post I list a few KDE projects that you might not know about that might be written in your preferred language or in a specialized format you have expertise or interest in.

By far, the most popular programming language actively used in KDE other than the expected languages is Python.

We also have stuff that would interest sysadmins (containers), packagers (snap/flatpak) and web developers.

in reply to joostruis

@joostruis It's pretty well established that if you post about Lunduke on a Linux forum you're probably going to be banned. Whether or not you agree with that you shouldn't be surprised that it happened anymore.

Keep in mind it's just one Manjaro GNOME maintainer who decided that he wanted to get some attention by doing so.

Whelp. I thought I’d planted some extra crocosmia bulbs in here but I’m thinking those leaves toward the front do not look like crocosmia leaves.

A wide ask here so please boost: my grandfather is trying to get rid of an old business computer, and I was wondering whether any vintage computer people might want it. It was purchased for $50k from The Ultimate Corporation in the early 80s. This ran the Pick operating system, and my best guess is the hardware was originally manufactured by GE or Honeywell. It's about the size of a half-rack and currently lives in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada. It has sat covered in plastic in a chemical warehouse for the past 35 years. Where do people usually post stuff like this other than here? Thanks!
