I just started to listen to the episode.
I used to use #Thunderbird, what annoyed me (besides the 1 GB of stuff it stored in .thunderbird instead of under .local/share) was that it brought notifications of calendar items and tasks BEFORE it synced them, so after going home from work, I'd be blasted with all my "missed work appointments" that I actually handled on my phone and got synced to Nextcloud.

So for e-mails I went back to pinned tabs in FF, and calendar I went CLI.

I also donated when I saw the "Keep Thunderbird alive" screen.

Its an awesome CTA screen IMO.

It looks cool and given that #Thunderbird is something many individuals and businesses heavily rely on every day, the chance that they are willing to donate to "keep it alive" is very high.

Showing the screen upon major update is also impactful, because you see the progress they are making and more willing to say thanks.

Like the legend of the phoenix, we're resurrecting Mozilla Send, an end-to-end encrypted file share service, and bringing it under our wings as Thunderbird Send. In this clip from S1E5 of the ThunderCast, developer Chris Aquino gives us a sneak peek of the new - wait, old - er, reborn project!

Learn how #Thunderbird Send will help you overcome your file upload woes, respect your privacy, safeguard against abuse, and hopefully change your #email experience for the better.

Wow. Thank you for sharing this on-device #translation #Firefox capability.

I see why you want this to be an option in #thunderbird! Personally I hope #SelfHosted translation comes to #openSource #messaging and #documentSharing platforms like #nextcloud too.

Side-by-side raw and translated words would be a neat option too.

They really look awesome together, don't they?

This summer, please reorganize your taskbars appropriately 😆

Both look fine too me.

I will admit though that the new one looks less like a bird and the envelope being pushed to the back is making it less clear that its an envelope.

The old one is classier and has more personality.

Boils down to what you're going for I guess. Personally I've rarely used #Thunderbird since I consider it cluttered and messy similar to #outlook

If Thunderbird's #UI would follow the changes of their #logo I'd be a #happycamper

Welcome to the debut episode of the Thunderbird podcast, which we're affectionately calling the ThunderCast!
