A hoodoo at the Valley of Dreams.

Looking out from under a rock ledge at a spectacular sandstone hoodoo. It has a trunk like a tree, off-white sandstone, maybe three feet in diameter at the base tapering to a little over 2' in the middle, then fanning out at the top into "fingers" that look a little like an elephant's foot. Balanced on top of the fingers is a huge rounded boulder of somewhat yellow and harder-looking sandstone. The balanced boulder is distinctly off center, looking like it should fall. The hoodoo is in a depression surrounded by layers of the same sort of stone -- crumbly looking off-white sandstone topped with harder yellower sandstone -- all weathered in a way that suggests that it's all in the process of becoming similar hoodoos. The overhang over the camera has a piece of the crumbly stone hanging from the top, a trapezoid of maybe 2-3' and about a foot thick, again looking like it should have fallen years ago. The sky is blue and cloudless.

First and foremost, Linux runs better on my hardware than Windows did. I like all the selections available for desktops and window managers. Running it at home is a LOT easier now than it was when I first looked at Linux in 2008-2010. With all the different distros available, I can find one that runs on the specific system where I want to install it.

omg, it only took me a month and a half with 50 or so failures wipes restores wipes and finally a fresh install after losing 3 database backups and imports, lost a few days of posts over all, but I finally got my #friendica instance upgraded to Friendica 'Blutwurz' 2026.04-dev - 1589 with php 8.5.2, and so far it appears to actually be working this time, i love friendica, I just wish the @Friendica Admins @Friendica Developers @Friendica Support had made it a bit more flexible every little change breaks everything, and it becomes a nearly never ending chase to customize and keep current, anyways for now I think my quite little instance is upgraded and running;
