You'll have to forgive me, dear readers, because I am a little confused on what's going on at the moment. What the heck actually is an indie or independent game nowadays?Liam Dawe (GamingOnLinux)
as a solo indie dev myself I believe this brings up a good point that we should start distinguishing solo developed games or games made by like two or three people from any sort of game developed by a team that has any sort of specific managerial position in it.

A game made by one or multiple "independent developers" aka. neither access to resources nor funding by big publishers and/or developers.
Meaning <100 people (if we count in all bought-in assets and playtesters) may and usually <10 people (employed directly or indirectly) and a budget <โฌ 1M.
Anyhing above is #SmallStudio and not #IndieDev!

We compared different #eDNA taxonomic classifiers across different simulated datasets of 12S and 16S metabarcoding data.
MMSeqs2 generally 'wins' closely followed by BLAST.
With exclusion databases it becomes apparent that standard Kraken2 produces many, many false positives. With some families like snappers, all classifiers can't assign more than ~30% of sequences.

I sent them an initial outline in powerpoint and my ggplot figures, we had a few calls and sits together. they redrew the figures in illustrator to make them nice! the text is relatively unchanged, which is why there's so much of it ๐

Right now I find Julia (on Max) just delightful. The series follows Julia Child as she creates The French Chef.
While I admit I may be biased given I work on a PBS #food show, I donโt think thatโs it. The actors are outstanding & itโs beautifully filmed - the colors are somehow both realistic & richer than real life. Characters are people I want to spend time with & every episode makes me smile.
