About two years ago I went to a presentation here in Santa Cruz by the daughter of Drake of the Drake Equation and the near head of NASA's (I could see him in the background in the control center when the JWST was launched.)
Anyway, they were describing how the coefficients of the Drake equation have increased because of the recognition that there are more planetary systems than originally thought and that the moons in those systems may be better places for life to form or exist than the planets themselves.
(BTW, I only belatedly realized that back in the 1970s that I worked at SDC for the person who headed the Apollo moon program. He thought I was a troublemaker. ๐
