I just had a glitch in the RSS feed resulting in me getting the last 50+ articles anew. But that's not the reason for me writing.

Getting this massive overview showed me that you published a few opinion articles or commentaries like this one in the last few days and weeks and I just wanted to tell you that I really appreciate those. The news are great but putting context around developments is even better. So thanks. ๐Ÿ™‚

in reply to Fluchtkapsel

@fluchtkapsel oooer, I did fuck about with the RSS earlier to take into account the link for the new guides type of articles, and i screwed a bit up on it but i fixed that

email me if it happens again after today

i have more editorials and guides and such to come, 2025 is a big year!

in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

I switched back to KDE Plasma on X11 on a machine last night after it crashed while using Dolphin. While I cannot blame Wayland for sure, it was the only thing I could think of that might cause the whole machine to freeze. It's been fine since.
in reply to Liam @ GamingOnLinux ๐Ÿง๐ŸŽฎ

there was one single time it worked for me. I don't know how often I've read "it's fixed now!", but somehow when I need it, it never is.

so I have been using a pinetab 2 as an e reader. So would this work for me given my experience with pine devices? I basically just need a browser, software to load epubs and PDFs, and a decent pen. Is it heavy?

The US should not be called "America". Nor should its citizens be called "Americans". Interestingly, many ex-pat US citizens refer to themselves as USians. Strange to articulate, but expresses their position on nomenclature clearly.

The US is not all of the Americas. The "Americas" was a convenient designation for the western continents decided upon by a European mapmaker, and the name stuck with the Europeans. So, when they stole the lands of the western continents, they just glued the name onto everything.

This humorous and largely accurate video lays bare all the insanity that is "America".

youtu.be/DfXoUaeLcDU?si=WexIT3โ€ฆ

in reply to Muse

Of course calling Turtle Island and Abya Yala "western continents" is also Eurocentric, as is calling China an eastern continent. East or west from where?
in reply to Muse

Actually, Mexicans gave you a name already. US citizens are gringos (or gringas, if female) because your Army uses green coats.

There are some false positives in that dataset, but I would still recommend it if you really want to err on the side of caution and donโ€™t mind the false positives. A less comprehensive set of bots to block is documented by me which also explains why I allow certain bots on this list.

Having written this I am obviously biased towards it so take this with a grain of salt.

I did a show about elephant conservation. For that show a friend and I made two elephant skulls that need to be re-homed or thrown out. Elephant skulls don't look anything like you would expect! Especially if the skulls have been removed.

I once did a show where I had a friend dressed up like a zombie mummy princess. She wandered through the audience moaning "knickers...knickers..." until the scoundrels who stole them gave them back!
Sadly, they must now go to the tip. Don't tell any zombie mummy princesses where I now live!

Today and tomorrow it is getting up to around the 39C mark.
