I believe they are Canadian Toads (Anaxyrus hemiophrys).

Film photography took a back seat in the 2000s and 2010s because it couldn't compete with digital cameras' speed and convenience.

But does that still hold true in 2024?

Apparently, not. Miles Myerscough-Harris shot the Jests game on Portra, had it developed, and posted the results as the game continued.

Growing up in Cumberland County, I never really felt at home. Something always felt off about living someplace the civil war came to – that left scars on the area and took lives from local families – yet still had assholes flying Confederate flags.

Saddens, but doesn't surprise, me when I go home to visit my mom and see Trump banners all over the damned place.

On my way back to Cape Town from Addis Ababa after a week of bioinformatics training in two languages that involved all the countries at the heart of the clade I Mpox outbreak & included me do a "bioinformatics dance" (video that will never be shown). SANBI (the institute I work for at the University of the Western Cape) has now offered in person training to participants from over 60% of the public health laboratories on the African continent!
