It was popular, but actually the stacking hat idea was poor and the IDE underwhelming. I've got a board, but usually I just put a PIC18F on stripboard with desired I/O, programming header and maybe a USB socket. Early ones in Assembler or C, later ones programmed in JAL. Or use a Raspberry Pi, though I think HW form factor / layout is poor. My Arduino is gathering dust.
I guess Adafruit will be looking for a replacement platform. Qualcomm are a double dip patent troll.

Because they advanced technologically faster than they grew in wisdom, they had the means to simply become the people they sought to escape.
Not only the means to become the people they sought to escape, but perhaps also the desire. Throw in the USA ideal of so-called "equality" where anyone can strive to be the president, or, these days, a billionaire, and, well, here we are!
I really hope either an alternative browser that's fully standard compliant shows up, or at least that a big enough org. to maintain it actually forks firefox and keep it clean. Building and maintaining a modern browser is a daunting task, and Mozilla *clearly* can't be trusted for staying in its lane. If they kept all their AI craze in an actual separate product, I wouldn't mind them looking into it. But Firefox is too important for them to keep messing up.

I'm curious to see what financial statements come out of Mozilla in the next year or so.
These tech companies tend to promote AI when they've invested a lot of money in to AI and subsequently want return on that investment. So far, a lot of that return has been attempting to sell to the public, or forcing and measuring its use internally.

Zork was created by students at MIT in 1979. The same year, they formed Infocom to commercialise it. In 1986, Infocom was bought by Activision, which became Mediagenic and then reverted to Activision. It created a holding company which merged with Vivendi Games in 2008 to form Activision Blizzard. Microsoft acquired Activison Blizzard in 2023.
Just a couple of days ago we mentioned getting eaten by a Grue to my 16-year-old, who named a dozen D&D monsters in an attempt to figure out what we talking about.
