linuxrocks.online/@Linux/11573… Linux@linuxrocks.online - a statement from Waterfox team:

"... browsers are operating systems of their own, and a browser’s job is to be a good steward of that environment. AI, in its current form and in my opinion does not match that responsibility.

... The core browsing experience should be one that fully puts the user in control, not one where you’re constantly monitoring an inscrutable system that claims to be helping you.

Waterfox will not include LLMs. Full stop."

It seems to only be available as source code, a tarball or on Flathub. That means I'll either manually need to keep it up to date or set up Flatpak for you, which I can do if you want.

My cats bring me these sorts of gifts, only they are ALIVE. Fortunately, they are also unharmed except lingering problems with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I'm the one who has to re-catch these gifts and put them back outside!

When I graduated high school, my mom threw a party. We had around 100 people in the house and on the deck. Our cat, Tami, figured out that there were a lot of mouths to feed and started bringing (dead) meadow voles from the empty field across the street. Guess who got to remove them. Tami brought 47 voles that day. I seriously wondered if she didn't empty that field of voles.

I wonder how many local news publishers have no idea that their websites have an RSS feed.
in reply to Nathan Schneider

Recently set a relative up with an RSS newsreader that includes a feed from (what's left of) their local newspaper, which is very clearly accidental - the website is based on Wordpress. It's good to be sneaky
in reply to ophiocephalic 🐍

Yep. I'm grateful my local paywalled private-equity paper has a fulltext feed

This lil' one watched us eat lunch for a while. Definitely no ulterior motives! #california #urbannature

It's weird how much my writing practice has started to be what happens while waiting for AI to write code. It is a new species of multitasking. And no multitasking is good, to be clear.

Day 21: Today marks the third week into Decadv, and the shortest day of the year, it has been fantastic to follow everyone's daily devlogs. It provided me the extra push I sometimes need to allow myself to just play, and I feel like this month has been nothing but marvelous pursuits.

As for today, I've kept on researching logic gates emulation in #Orca and figured I probably had all the pieces to implement Rule 90 at this point. Behold Sierpiński's triangle in Orca!

I had a dream that I bought the new Commodore 64 Ultimate, and was severely disappointed when I woke up and it wasn't here.

No debate: Linux is the best open source project on Earth! 🔥✨

in reply to It's FOSS

No disrespect to the Linux kernel, but activity is orthogonal to quality. Just because a project has a lot of activity gives zero indication about how good the code is. In many cases it's the opposite - lots of activity indicates a code base so riddled with bugs that it needs endless fixes.

And lack of activity doesn't indicate an obsolete project. It may also be the opposite: one that works perfectly as designed and intended.

in reply to It's FOSS

So, the question is, how compromised has it actually become?

What metrics are important for you when it comes to #running? #HRV, #Sleep quality, #RHR, or something else?

I tend to adjust my RPE during my running sessions based on my sleep and awake HRV. If my HRV is above or below my normal range (which is 105-110 sleep and 83-85 awake) I adjust the intensity of the workout accordingly.

What metrics do you monitor and how do you adjust your workouts according to these metrics?

in reply to Moha

HRV being unbalanced is a sign that something is off. My sleep recovery is very important. Otherwise it is all feel which is sometimes at odds with the measurements. Can I push? How do I feel post pushing is what's important to me.
in reply to Kirk

@JustBrogrammer Yes, how do you feel is the most important, regardless of the metrics.

omiindustriies on the #orca IRC just pointed out something neat that I never realized.. The B(subtract) operator in Orca is a XOR gate, and M(mul) is a AND gate.

What is Orca? Do B/M support two bits? If so, what are the outputs?
in reply to PedroMJ

@pedromj for some reason I don't see your notifications, it's strange.

But yes, both operators take two inputs, you can try it out for yourself here: wiki.xxiivv.com/site/orca
