All of these gaming handheld manufacturers choosing to use Windows makes me think they are not simply ignoring that Linux exists.
I really think it might be (at least in part) because they lack the technical expertise to support a Linux-powered handheld like the Steam Deck.
Valve, on the other hand, had nearly a decade's worth of experience working on Linux before they successfully released the Steam Deck — unlike their previous attempt with the Steam Machines.

Compared to about 20+yrs ago, when of first contact, #GNU #Linux became a feasible thing for the average user.
Whereas I miss the old Alt-OS-es (sob, sob, #BeOS) Linux has matured to a degree of flexibility and accessibility that makes it first choice for the savvy user, or anyone interested in PRIVACY and NOT supporting evil corporations.
