Great article! I hated PE as a kid. Other activities I have always enjoyed doing, I suppose because they didn't strike me as exercise--just fun. I like dancing, singing, long walks in nature (be sure to check these links!). Years later and I'm still recovering from having my back fractured. I am good at keeping at my exercises, because I keep turning them into dance-steps and do them to my favourite music. Walking involves saying "hi" to many of the neighbours, patting all the dogs being taken for a walk, and ends with a lovely cup of tea at my favourite cafe. So, things are getting better. And I feel emotionally better when I do them.

This was published by Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, where the editorial office should have caught this and nuked it from orbit. Wow.

For years, the M1 has only supported OpenGL 4.1. That changes today – with our release of full OpenGL® 4.6 and OpenGL® ES 3.2! 🎉
Unlike the vendor’s drivers, our open source Linux drivers are conformant to the latest OpenGL versions, finally promising broad compatibility with modern OpenGL workloads, like Blender, Ryujinx, and Citra.

in reply to Muse • • •PE is taught inconsistently.
In grammar school, it was calisthenics and dodge ball.
In high school, Freshman year, we had a shiny new teacher decide he was going to expose us to as many sports as possible with no actual training in those sports - cross-country running, tennis, soccer (I got a soccer ball in the face), and others. Kids who knew how to play tennis played tennis; the kids who didn't flailed about with no guidance on rules or even how to serve the damned ball.
Sophomore year, our instructors were the school's football and basketball coaches - who would lead us in calisthenics, then throw us a basketball and tell us to play, while they did networking. (Coach Haskell eventually wound up with the Green Bay Packers, and Coach Laveroni wound up at U.C. Berkeley.)

in reply to Muse • • •At some point in high school, I figured they couldn't hold me back for PE alone. So I stopped making an effort. As it turns out, just showing up results in a grade of 40-50%, which was enough to pass.
Bob Lai
in reply to Muse • • •Nothing makes kids hate PE more than forcing a bunch of untrained and out of shape boys run 2.5 miles ON PAVEMENT in under 40 minutes.
I hated Coach Thomas.
Oh, and after I got a soccer ball in the face because of another instance where he didn't teach anyone HOW to play, he asked, "Are your glasses okay?" and not, "Are YOU okay?"
Muse
in reply to Muse • • •As the new kid the other students would often gang up on me during dodgeball in order for them all to throw their balls at me at the same time. I'd come home bruised every time.
