way to go! We need more science communicators. All BSc programs should have a mandatory course on science communication, just think if we could have mobilized all those graduates to communicate clearly to the press and their friends.

About Note Apps & Nextcloud Integration

It would be good if we can sync our logseq/siyuan/(place other foss note app here) notes with our nextcloud server and search on them. Also it would be good to chat with our own notes with nextcloud's builtin AI (like notion's new Q&A feature)

We're in for a good anime season when one of the first things that airs is about how the deployment of 7G caused the collapse of society, turning people into animals, so a bunch of girls steal a train to go find their missing friend. Dumb plots like this is why I love anime

I doubt that as I can spot simple repeats! Always look at your data!

@foaylward another possibility: these are the R1 reads and I ran kraken2 in paired mode.
I haven't looked at the R2!! That's for tomorrow

Thankfully that has only happened to me once (Dragons and Titans). Being late to the whole Steam thing, I started out buying a ton of games, and for a long time I maintained a consistent 50% of my Steam library unplayed.

I also try to play the oldest games first, so I have a few years of backlog. Plus I bought most of the games on sale, so already not the newest when I bought them.

Too bad with Dragons and Titans, of the three MOBAs I have (Dota 2, Awesomenauts and D&T), it was the one I liked the most.

After a few decades trying to work with the traditional system to reform scientific publishing, several charities have given up, realizing that the multinational oligopoly of Elsevier et al. and conservative prestigious journals have too much of a stranglehold over scholarship to give up their profiteering ways. science.org/content/article/bo… #openaccess

When I post about #science & #history, I tend to highlight the trailblazers we don’t usually read or hear about in #HistoryRemix.

But tonight I want to share this beautifully composed piece about Nikola Tesla.

While his inventions are legendary, you may not know how Tesla’s OCD shaped his approach to science & ultimately led to his world-changing ideas. It also left him isolated & alone. But he still experienced deep connection by caring for birds. nautil.us/teslas-pigeon-460446…

The Open Source Software Supply Chain Isn't REAL!! #Linux #YouTube youtu.be/yt0S_xN5b94
in reply to NiceMicro

@nicemicro Here's another example, if you setup a stand that has free fruit on it, the people taking the fruit should not be under the false assumption that you're doing anything more than offering free fruit, if there happens to be no fruit that day or a poor selection of fruit unless they want to start paying you for the fruit there concerns only matter as much as you care about them
in reply to Brodie Robertson

@BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.onli.ne Yes. I did not argue with that, even for a second.

The only thing I said is that in your analogy, you shouldn't be surprised that someone took half the oranges and made a lot of money on orange juice without giving anything back to the community.

My argument is, that if as a dev you are concerned for the community, stipulate a license that stipulates that the orange juice one makes of the free orange should also be free.
