The other day I tried to read an article (on mobile) somewhere and after of it, there was a screen filling ad with a rotatable 3d model of a watch. So when I tried to scroll past it, the ad basically intercepted my swipe and started to rotate the watch, which made it literally impossible to scroll past the ad. Wtf.
In the end I scrolled up a bit and basically flung the screen past it. What a user experience

About the thing about bearing persecution for justice's sake, I think the idea is to stand up for someone being mistreated even if you get mistreated for doing so.
I have personally encountered executives from Rio Tinto. These are not people of integrity. They have their agenda and will say and do what it takes to achieve it, regardless of the damage to the truth, to people, and to the environment. They want to dig everything up, quick, and secure it for themselves. This is regardless of whether it makes them a profit now, because later people may be desperate to pay them anything.
I didn't think of filtering out mails containing "I need" before. But after seeing the examples, I realized it makes perfect sense in pretty much any scenario. ๐
