ā€œI have sympathy for anyone in our county who is concerned for our services or their own future, but terrorising victims of war and torture is unforgivable. Our politicians’ rhetoric of hate and division is destroying our society and our British values. My greatest concern is whether the police can keep the people in this hotel safe both tonight and in the future.ā€

Here in the U.K. we witnessed a horrific and violent protest outside a hotel housing refugees in Knowsley, Merseyside. Police barely managed to keep the 'protestors' outside the hotel. They were intent on doing harm to people whose only 'crime' was being refugees.

This morning we are still waiting for any kind of statement from Prime Minister Sunak or Home Secretary Braverman.

Perhaps they are still deciding whose side they are on?

This will come as no surprise, but last night's violent far right protests in Knowsley, U.K. were promoted freely on social media.

Facebook has groups like 'Hotels Housing Illegals' and Twitter has accounts like Yorkshire Rose(Get The Migrants Out).

All of these groups were promoting violent disorder and hate speech last night, and are celebrating violent disorder and hate speech this morning, with no consequence.

There are laws against this.
But where is the accountability?

Physicist John Tyndall is often credited w discovering the greenhouse effect, which he wrote about in 1859.

But female scientist Eunice Foote published a paper - 3yrs earlier - demonstrating how atmospheric water vapor & CO2 affected solar heating. She theorized that heat trapping gases in Earth’s atmosphere warm its #climate.

Tyndall was widely read. And Foote, being a woman, wasn't even permitted to present her own work.

You said, ā€œIn 1856, scientist Eunice Foote published a paper demonstrating how atmospheric water vapor & CO2 affected solar heating. She theorized that heat trapping gases in Earth’s atmosphere warm its #climate. ā€œ This is very interesting! Can you cite the reference please? I would like to send copies if it to my friends who say there is no evidence that increasing CO2 heats the planet. Thanks! #climate #solarpower #distributedenergy #sustainableag #permaculturegarden

Turns out that when the only people boycotting a game were never going to buy it in the first place it's not a very effective boycott. In fact it even seems to have the opposite effect due to the disgusting approach a few loud people are taking.

The hashtag #deathcult is a highly charged but uncontroversial characterization of #neoliberalism.

The #hashtag was coined by #hamishcampbell on his blog (hamishcampbell.com) from long expirence of protest, this came to a head at the launch of Extinction Rebellion (XR) a global environmental activist movement that seeks to raise awareness about the urgent threat of climate change and biodiversity loss.

in reply to Admin

In their view, the political system is driven by a destructive #ideology that prioritizes short-term gains over the well-being of future generations and the environment.

They argue that this approach is unsustainable and will lead to the collapse of ecosystems, mass extinction of species, and severe impacts on human societies, such as food and water shortages, displacement, and conflict.

in reply to Admin

The hashtag is simple, a metaphor for the last 40 years of #Neoliberalism, which is a political and economic #ideology that emphasizes the importance of free markets, deregulation, and minimal government intervention in the "economy". Over the last four decades, this ideology has shaped the policies of many countries, leading to a shift toward globalization, privatization, and a focus on maximizing profits.
