Nobody,
except stupid AI Bitches wants this!
Gen AI is evil! Promoting AI is shame!

Sometimes I think my #solarpunk ideas are very original. Decentralized countries. 3D printers manufacturing anything. Biophotovaltic panels that grow in backyards to power homes. And then I read an article like this and I remember that a lot of other writers like me are reacting to our present dilemmas and troubles, and we probably grew up on the same kind of scifi stories so we most likely end up with the same solutions. See #books to read inside.

it's like every evil partnered up against the public and is normalizing surveillance. isn't it crazy how Palantir, Epstein, ICE and Israel are all tied together? all of this surveillance is just for data and silencing dissidents.

Does he seriously think, that many gamers want to buy Nvidia GPUs after the way Nvidia treated them lately?
Although the fact that they think about it, could be telling, especially after the news about OpenAI.
Is there a bubble about to pop?

I hope that some people will love this.

I'm not going to use it. Computers should be efficient. People should be effective.

There is a difference. 😉

I think the speckled (?) Hens are Plymouth Rock chickens...
They look huge compared to.my "bantam" Silky "black meat" chickens.. After a feast of soup and BBQ worked up.by 2 guys from the countryside of the Phillipines I want to raise some big birds.. The Silkies can be like pets, companions, incubators and the other breeds can serve as multinational community building feasts...

Someone just pointed out to me something very true to my experience—that the chrono timeline is easily gamed by frequent posters. Is there any fix for that, other than just unfollowing?

Edit: unfollowing *and muting*, which places the burden on the user rather than the UX.

The UI could group the posts and just show a few from each person, with the option to click to see more. The user only sees one post from each followee per hour, with a small button underneath “click for 147 more”.

It’s too bad that multi-post “threads” don’t already work that way, at least on my instance.

For me, I hate seeing my entire timeline populated by a user who boosts every single post in a 36 post thread. Gets an instant 'hide boosts' from me.

I've been meaning to recommend this tv series to people. Pro Bono is an immensely entertaining Korean courtroom drama with plenty of humour and heart. Sometimes it leaves the West panting in the dust when it comes to tough issues. I was blown away by the conclusion of the episodes to do with an immigration case. You can see this in English on Netflix.

(yes, there is a little schmaltz, but bear with it)

"Maria Antonia had learned English at her private school in Medellin. She overheard one immigration officer tell another that if she had been 10 years old, they would have been able to keep her separated from her mom. That, she said, is when the real fear set in."

We are out here acting like corporations with a profit motive are going to make any effort to protect the future of mankind.

This teddy bear waved to me this afternoon, as I passed its barge while walking along the tow path. No really. The owner has a rope set up that runs from the arm of the teddy bear at the bow to the stern where he was stood steering. It was kinda lovely and heartwarming 🙂💕

I just preordered A Better World Is Possible for my kids (and me) and you should too! bookshop.org/p/books/a-better-…

Having one of those days where I've done a few reasonably energetic things, such as unload/load the dishwasher, swapped the TV onto a new cabinet, and tidied up a little bit, and now I'm completely and utterly wiped. Zero spoons.

Going to try heading out into the timid afternoon sunshine we've got here. We're going to visit one of the two ruined abbeys that are within a twenty minute drive. Take some photos and see how the rest of the afternoon goes.

in reply to DJDarren

Well, the sunshine ended up being not that timid.

I've lived across the river from Netley Abbey for half my life, but never visited it until today. It's really cool. Saw a buzzard too, but didn't get a photo.
